Galaxy S5 Verizon September Update.

Better to wait for Android lollipop, lilikoi, or lime, whatever it is.

Hey fofjjsr,

The update was detailed as a fix for Bluetooth drop out. Something that I have been experiencing a lot. I just started downloading it so I have no idea if it will actually resolve the issue.

If I hadn't read your post I would not have know there was an update. there was a notification of the last update but not this one.

Thanks,
Oz

Kind of a paranoid way to look at it but OK.

It's easy to be paranoid when you do in fact lose features that you use. My last Verizon update of my Moto killed WiFi tethering, which is what led me to switch to an S5. I have no reason to trust any future update to not do the same thing to the S5.

Good morning. I am on AT&T and have an S5, as well. When I heard the Verizon S5 was updating to the v4.4.4, I decided to take a look if AT&T made it available as I'm running v4.4.2 (still). Although an update DID download, my phone still reads v4.4.2 - I guess until AT&T releases it officially.

That att update was minor fixes. There was a thread about. No 4.4.4 for us yet.

Hopefully I don't jinx it, but this update may have cured some of the WiFi issues I've been having. WiFi always worked fine except for on my school's network, where it would inevitably drop after a few minutes of being connected claiming that the signal quality was insufficient. So far I've been connected continuously for the past hour with no problems...

I've tried twice to install. Failed both times. No changes made to the phone.

Failed for me too. I unrooted, unfroze all the bloat and I got the first small update, but the big one fails every time.

Worked fine for me over wifi. Went into phone's software update sub-menu, and while it took some time to download, it worked. Fingerprint scanner is much improved, and I look forward to testing out bluetooth audio streaming to my UE Boom to see if dropouts and skips are no more. Hope so!

Oh lord, after the update when I turn my Wifi on the icon for 4G is still lit up. Verizon had this issue after an update on the S3 time to see if I can find the fix for it.

Does anybody that got the update installed notice at all if they now have the favorites list view option again or is it still only grid view?

Just Curious!

With this new update, can you tell me if they restored the list view option under favorites, that was removed in the last OTA update, which is just now the Grid View?

Anyone figure out a reason for this? mine is failing as well. tried 4G and on wifi. Multiple restarts as well. VZW
