Goal: I need a way to unlock the screen or force an adb connection, possibly without a screen. Phone is not rooted. Lock is pattern type.

Background: Recently damaged my S6 Active G890A. LCD was cracked, outside glass cracked, was getting no images, pulsing blue light in corner. Took it to get repaired and they said the phone wouldn't boot (tried two screens to make sure). Got it home and decided to fiddle with it some more (sans screen assembly) since I have pictures of my kids that didn't get backed up yet. I can get it to turn on, receive calls (rings only, can't answer obviously), can find it with Samsung/Google find my phone services, charging light comes on from time to time and will wireless charge, etc. Can see it in ADB/Kies from time to time but can't access due locked screen and no RSA.

Questions:

Is it possible to use a screen from a Galaxy S Express (SGH-i437) that I happen to have lying around as a replacement for my S6-Active? Do they have the same number of pins/configuration? I tried to connect it but the cases and short cable make it difficult to get it close enough to see if they work together. I thought I could get a cable extension but I would need to make sure that it fits the phone (G890) and the screen (SGH-i437).

Second part of this would be do the G890 and G920 have the same screen connector?

Hopefully that's clear enough to get some answers and make progress. Thanks
