Galaxy S6 Active: What Device Did You Come From and Why?

About the only thing you can knock it for is touchwiz. Everything else is wonderful!

Touch Wiz isn't that bad actually.. I never thought I be saying that.. But it's true.

I've gotten to try out HTC sense and LG's skin and in all honesty Touch Wiz isn't really any worse than those.

From my perspective they are hands above where they were a few years ago when I had my Note II...

They all have bloat on the carriers and that is a pain in the backside

Re: Galaxy S6 Active:

As great as the phone is suppose to be I've had on going issues since I got it last week, the phone lose connection to network. To where I get error when sending text and cant make calls. Hopefully its fixed quickly!

Maybe look into an exchange? Mine has zero signal issues.

Re: Galaxy S6 Active:

I came from the A S6 & S6E that I took both back because of poor battery life. Now I'm digging the way longer battery life & IP68 Outdoors man features as I work in all the elements. The original S6 should have been like this but that's Samsung fault for trying to bend to market talk and not stay true to themselves. Disabled all the carrier bloat and it still runs fast.

Re: Galaxy S6 Active:

Switched from an AT&T Galaxy S5. Gave that one to my wife and am really liking the S6 Active. Also have the Incipio DualPro Hardwire case and the Samesung Qi wireless charger.

Came from my trusty old HTC One m7.

For me it came down to the z3 or the s6 active mostly because my main 2 concerns are battery life and durability. The active is meant to have a lot more drop/shock durability plus no covers for the charging port and headphone jack.

So far I'm loving the s6 Active, huge upgrade over my old m7 but really any modern phone would have been. I love only having to charge the thing every other day.

The main thing to me all these opinions about the phone being "ugly", at the end of the day I'm a man. I need a durable phone not a fashion accessory. My only regret is storage space - the camera is like 1000x better than my old m7 and it would be nice to ave an sd slot to handle storage duties.

Same, here. M7 was great for a year, then developed the purple tint camera, on both mine and my wife's. HTC finally fixed them, but neither phone acted right when we got them back.

I loved the new S6, but we are both triathletes and kayakers, so I knew those would never last with our lifestyle. The Active looks perfect! Love the physical keys, the programmable Active key on the side, the fabulous camera, etc. I always had about 5 gig of space left on my M7, and that's with about 12 gig of music that I really don't listen to that much, so I'm not too worried about it being "only" 32 gig.

It's okay that they built the s6 all pretty and such... There's nothing wrong with that... however they should have come out with both on all carriers at the same time and used the bigger battery in it and offered the 64/128 memory options in the Active. The regular s6 might not have been as thin and as light but damn... there wouldn't have been nearly the amount of complaints about it.

I hope that they have learned their lesson on this for next year and tell AT&T to stick it on the exclusive offering of the Active. They won't be worrying about quotas then, cause they will have a 1-2 knockout punch.

If this is not the same experience you've had with other phones at the same locations your having problems with the S6 Active, then you should try exchanging the S6A for another one.

Nichole, try one thing before you take it back. Two years ago, my wife and I got HTC One M7's, and mine did the same thing as yours. What we discovered was my sim was not seated perfectly in the tray. Try removing the sim tray from the side of the phone and making sure it is seated properly and that it is put back in solidly. If you still have the issue after that, then do what the others have said and go greet a replacement.
