Galaxy S6 Alarm is useless

I love my new galaxy s6, but coming from the Galaxy s4, I am so disappointed in the alarm! NO ability to set snooze time, doesn't tell me how much time till the alarm goes off, and the flippy interface is a pain! Any way to fix any of this without using a 3rd party app?

I tried Timely, but the alarm only seems to sound when my media volume is up which worries me. I'll test it more but I'd rather not have to use a 3rd party app.

I seriously don't understand companies that remove perfectly functional features for no reason. It's very frustrating.

3 things that I don't like: the one off button is so hard to hit on the home screen. It takes you to the app if you don't hit it dead on, and there is no way to turn off the alarm on the app. 2nd, no briefing alarm. I really enjoyed having the news read to me every morning (felt like I was on the Jetsons). Third, and I doubt anyone would have noticed unless they sleep in like I do on occasion, but if you use the S6 Edge's sidebar as a night clock, it shows you what time the alarm is set for in military time, however if you set it for say 12:30 pm, it shows military time as 0:30 pm.

I'm using timely and it was really quiet this morning. I was testing it and it seems alarm volume is tied to media volume on the S6? On my moto X, alarms had it's own volume slider. Is this not the case on the S6? Because I play my games on low or no volume so my media is often super low. This could be a problem ....

Timely is always the same volume for me whether my media volume is low, off, or high. I have noticed though if the alarm is going off and I pick my phone up, it gets quieter.

Sounds like some of you guys don't need a smartphone, you need your own rooster to wake u up in the morning. You want to snooze, shove the rooster off of the window ledge and it'll fly back to your window in 10 minutes to wake you back up. I can understand the gripe about no briefing setting but C'mon guys, our smartphones perform as they should in most aspects, I think we're getting a little greedy now

I don't think wanting the features that used to be on our phones that we paid hundreds of dollars for is being very greedy at all.

The thing that really annoys me about the alarm is it doesn't stop sounding off until you tell it to stop. Once my phone was on the other side of the room and it literally sounded the alarm for ten minutes and I got fed up of waiting for it to stop so I got out of bed just to turn it off. So annoying

I'm sure they read reviews or our opinions as a whole and removed what wasn't necessary and upgraded things that they felt were. Just taking a guess but things evolve and get changed. We just gotta adapt. That's all I was saying.

Made you get up though lol. Served its purpose

The alarm wakes you up.
Don't keep laying in bed .
Snooze is cheating.
Should of gone to bed a little earlier.
Bet you have to rush to get to work.

Why do people complain about the stock alarm clock when there are loads of apps that do what they need. Timely and Sleep for Android are two alarm clocks that are completely configurable. If you own a smart phone, use it like one!

I wasn't asleep when it went off. I was already awake

Any alarm should ring until a person turns it off manually. An alarm is a warning.

People who wants the alarm to sound when their Android smartphone is powered OFF should go for one of the Chinese brands. Most of them have enabled this most useful feature in their Android offerings. My Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 will happily wake up from a totally powered-off state, sound the alarm at the preset time and then power off again immediately.

That's how it worked with ALL Symbian phones, whether dumb phones or smartphones, that's how Blackberry used to work and that's how modern smartphones should work!

Hear Samsung and Apple!

Yes I agree. I think alot of ppl on here are missing a point. The S4 had a voice recognition function where you could tell your phone to snooze or stop when the alarm went off..... That was one of the best functions on the S4!!!!!! Its amazing how many ppl didn't know about this function and they still don't today! The stock alarm clock on the S4 was the best, why didn't samsung include this on the S6 & S6 Edge??? Anyways I found a app in the Google store called Voice Snooze Alarm, just installed it and fingers crossed its the same it was on the stock S4.......
Samsung, listen to your customers......

When a Calendar Reminder goes off, it screws up the Alarms! Stops the Alarms until the Calendar Reminder is dismissed!

That's a terrible problem - and needs to be fixed! The Alarm should still go off!

And the Alarms stop to easily - sometimes only going off for a minute before they stop - especially when fighting with the Calendar Reminders, as noted!!!

Caused me to be late SO many times!
- Galaxy S6 Edge, 5.1.1

(Not having a an sdcard, and poor cloud integration (google drive) is lame, too...)

My S5 was much better, but was stolen...

Try Extreme Alarm! It give you the chance to solve math equation to turn it off, the only way to wake me up by now :P

Did any of you check the OPTIONS tab when setting the alarm? For goodness sake you have the snooze setting right there!

Why not just tell Google to get you up at a certain time.
Why does everyone need snooze. When the alarm goes off, get up.
