Galaxy S6 charger gets really hot.. Normal or not?

My Samsung Galaxy S6 charger gets really hot when my phones on low battery. It's not the phone that gets hot it's the charger when you plug it in your phone the little square thing that shows the USB sign. I feel like it gets too hot it might explode my phone so I take it off every 5 mins up to like 4 times then it doesn't get that hot but is this normal? Would it actually explode or something is it bad for the phone?

My guess is it's due to the fast charging thing, when it needs to allow stronger power circuit going through to quickly charge your phone low battery.
