Galaxy S6 Edge Screen Spontaneously Cracked

Maybe the battery issue with the Note will get Samsung thinking twice about insisting that the spontaneous screen cracks aren't real, too..
Mine (S6) cracked during a hike in cold weather last year. It was in my vest pocket the whole time and did not hit anything or bang against anything. I now have an HTC-10, mainly because their guarantee for the first year is no questions asked.

Meanwhile, my wife placed her Note 4 next to a sweaty glass (cold drink in a humid environment) and enough water came off the glass (yes, it was a little puddle) and wicked into the Note that it now starts booting and then restarts, over and over. Our mistake this time.
I gave her my old S6 to use until the Note 7's were shipping again. Looks like we will have to change our plans!! Let's see LG V20? (nope, not shipping yet), Pixel XL? (nope, not shipping yet), iPhone? (nope). Bummer!!

THAT HAPPENED TO ME THIS MORNING!!! I had to send my previous phone back to AT&T (and with my insurance paid $100 for a refurbished Galaxy s5.) and as with the previous one, this one started getting hot to the touch while charging or gaming (backgammon, Gin, etc) Then this morning, I woke up grab my phone off my night stand and the very top of the screen was shattered like someone took a hammer to it. AT&T won't let me use the insurance I paid for because I already did this year, WTF, they said a warranty might be appropriate. The phone they gave me was refurbished!! I'm gonna lose it if they don't come through. But after this, all gaming will be on my tablet.

I'm posting this here to see if anyone else has experienced this. My wife has had a Galaxy S6 Edge for about 3 months now, and hasn't had any problems with the phone other than it gets pretty hot when charging. Yesterday, she showed me that her phone had an update but the battery was too low to initialize the update. At that time, the screen had zero cracks in it. She set the phone down on the couch next to me and went upstairs to get her charger. When she came back and plugged her phone in, the phone screen was completely shattered as if it had been dropped on gravel. I know 100% that from the time I looked at her phone and when she discovered it cracked, it had not sustained any kind of fall or impact. I am absolutely at a loss for how this kind of thing could have happened. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I think it's the problem with S6 edge . As for me I was using my phone and browsing . While browsing I saw a smudge and I tried to remove it but it doesn't get off then in a few mins the screen started to cracked and there you go.

It happened after I updated the software . Yes my phone sometimes goes hot and sometimes charges too slow. Apparently I bought my S6 edge during the Samsung red carpet event which offers 2 yr warranty and its just 1 yr and 5 months old . Now Samsung customer service told us that there are lots of cases similar to mine but Samsung voided my warranty .

Take note I don't even drop it and also it also covered with otter box .

Samsung sells garbage phones and doesn't even acknowledge it's warranty .

I had lots of Samsung and yet all of my Samsung goes to trash. Don't spend your money with Samsung phones .

Today my 2-month old S6 Edge Plus cracked at the left-most top corner of the screen. It's half inch hairline crack running from the top left to the sides. I did not drop or bang my phone. It was in my pocket all the while I was just using it to browse the net to find a nearby cafe in the mall, although I did feel it was getting hot (but nothing more than usual). When I got to the cafe and ordered my coffee and donuts, I took my phone out of my pocket, laid on the table gently, flipped the original samsung clear view cover and then I noticed the hairline crack. I thought it was just dirt or something else but no it was a hairline crack. My stomach fell out of my butt. Since i was in the mall, i went straight to the nearby samsung service center to raise the issue and inquire about a repair or replacement. The person manning the service desk said that it was the first time he heard of samsung screens spontaneously cracking and that my warranty is voided since it is a physical damage. But I did not damage my phone. Screen replacement is going to cost me around 250 usd. My phone is under a lock in period of 2 years. Needless to say I am devastated. I have been taking real good care of this phone as it is my first high end phone purchase. This is just not right. I want to file a complaint but reading all the experience of others who had their screens spontaneously crack too, Im feeling really defeated.

Why am I not seeing any pictures? Even searching the web I see comments of this happening (even from other phone manufacturers) and have only seen 1 person post a picture. It's so easy to get onto a forum and post a comment. Now I'm not saying this couldn't happen but pictures are worth 1000 words.

Last Night my phone was on my work desk while I did some stuff.I pick up my phone to use and It wont turn on. Im like really this phone just charged earlier. Let me tell u guys I had a phone cover and screen protector on my phone. I continue trying to turn my phone on. And nothing works. It keeps flashing like on and off. I try a reset nothing.I try a factory reset nothing again. Blue light on conner of phone on.
So today I go to sprint and I explain to thd guy what happened.so he grabs my phone and proceeds to tell me theres 3 left side kinda cracks and one comming down. Im like to way. I didnt nothing to it etcc.. The guy doesnt even give me the chance to have a repair guy check it out. And tells me your liable. With your TPP its $200 im like seriously.. Etc.. i proceed to argue then if im paying that much i want the s7. He tells me you can upgrade.but your phone has to be in good condition to upgrade. Im upset now I go to mall to see if their cheaper. Not same price to fix screen. Then the guy looks at my phone and tells me it waS your battery no good back of phone not sticking. Overheating pressure crack screen. Im like really ok. Call sprint nada. Call insurance.ohh well i would go back to store and have a manager look at it. So exactly what im doing tomorrow. Gluck to me.

Yes this happened to my boss 3 times with 3 separate S7 edge phones. It is a fact that they break on their own without being dropped

Happened to me last night. Plugged my phone in. Went to sleep. Woke up this morning to a crack in the left side of the screen. Phone obviously didn't fall, it was right where I left it.
No explanation for why there's a crack in the screen.

My s6 edge plus cracked also for no good reason. It also has a scrambled screen and won't turn off. I went to sleep and woke up to see what time it was and the phone didn't respond. A lawsuite sounds like a good idea.

Samsung s6 edge n plus have great features n good cam however the screens are **** not durable at all n the have a heating up problem too, u can get a crack in the screen n never dropped n fully protected it just cheap, it's an expensive pretty lemon smh, the what they charge for these cell phones they can do better with their products all around

My galaxy s6 edge was working fine about 5 months I the phone began slowing and ran hot I turned it off n left my phone in my sock drawer for the weekend monday I notice the back of my phone was pushed out and the front screen had been cracked significantly. I had it in an otterbox when I took it off I could see the back glass was completely off the phone and the battery had swelled up to the point where it cracked my front screen. That was in Oct 2017 it is now a year from then and I still am waiting for Samsung to help me . I was so upset that ATT couldn't help me and wanted me to buy a new phone I ended up just going to tmobile I ultimately did have to buy the s8 edge but I was very unhappy I was forced to do so
