Galaxy S6 Edge Screen Spontaneously Cracked

My Samsung S7 Edge has the screen cracked spontaneously. Today I was using my phone, after 15 min, I saw my phone cracked without a hit. My phone does not have signs of shock or scratches.

Hi I had a problem in February with the internal screen cracking Samsung didn't want to know. My network provider sorted a new phone as I had been with them for years. Today the replacement phone cracked internal screen in the same area it wasn't due to temperature change now my network provider don't want to know so it is now going to trading standards and court and I will be contacting bbc watchdog I will show Samsung for what they are.
I don't know how to add any pics in this thread.

I'm posting this here to see if anyone else has experienced this. My wife has had a Galaxy S6 Edge for about 3 months now, and hasn't had any problems with the phone other than it gets pretty hot when charging. Yesterday, she showed me that her phone had an update but the battery was too low to initialize the update. At that time, the screen had zero cracks in it. She set the phone down on the couch next to me and went upstairs to get her charger. When she came back and plugged her phone in, the phone screen was completely shattered as if it had been dropped on gravel. I know 100% that from the time I looked at her phone and when she discovered it cracked, it had not sustained any kind of fall or impact. I am absolutely at a loss for how this kind of thing could have happened. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
My galaxy s6 edge did the same thing twice within 2 weeks. The screen has like holes in it, as if were shot with a bob gun (figuratively).

Hello, Lithuania calling

I have purchased my Samsung Galaxy S6 (NOT the Edge) 10 days ago. After 7 days, out of nowhere the screen broke while charging. At one point I checked my phone and it was quite hot, but the screen still was perfect. Later I've noticed a crack on the screen. Phone didn't have any drops, accidents, chips or something before. It is in mint condition, perfect 10/10. Except the hairline crack at the bottom.
Already visited Samsung service. They told, that there is no way to prove, that it broke itself. Sadly I don't have Samsung Care screen insurance. Now I'm trying to contact Samsung by email and try to solve this. I don't want to pay about 160 euros because I did nothing.
Previously I had couple Samsung phones (Ace 2 and S2+). The previous one had numerous accidents, falls but the screen stayed intact. I was sure, that partly aluminum body and newer Gorilla glass will make S6 even more resistant. Turns out, impact isn't needed to crack the screen.

Try contacting your local Samsung support service. I did that, not sure if they will do something, but I'm waiting for response.
Unless you have Samsung Galaxy Care option.

Hi. I've experience do the same problem. I'm curious how the case ended?

This has happened to me with both a sony and Samsung s6 edge. It is caused when the phone overheats and cracks the screen. You can usually tell as the crack is on the underside of the screen....you can see it but not feel it.

Hi. If you are interrested I'm trying to collect 10 People against the s-g in order to go to court with this case. Got 5 already

Where are you from? I might be interested to join you. I've tried to contact Samsung, explain the situation, but all they said was there is no way it could happent without droping or some external forces. There is no way I could prove it is their fault.

I have an S6 on which the screen spontaneously cracked just the other day. It's never been dropped. It was in my purse in a shopping cart. I don't have insurance, but contacted my carrier for Samsung's contact information. I will be calling them shortly. My carrier alluded to the fact that this is an issue. The phone wasn't charging, wasn't in any type of heat. Not a happy camper!

I had a similar situation my phone was plugged in when it happened. I went to power up my phone and just from pressing the button the screen spiderwebed out from the power button across the whole screen.

I had exactly the same problem as you.

I discharged my phone and put it on the table. I left to toilet for about 1 minute, when I returned the glass tempered had a crack. No body was in the house that time except myself. There is no way the phone dropped as the phone was untouched, and the condition of my phone was flawless, no damage, never fell.

five minutes ago I was on the phone with Samsung Service Center in Indonesia (where I am located), and they said that damage on the glass is not covered by warranty. I told them so many people from all over the world had the same problem and they said they never received this kind of problem in Indonesia and I was the first. Very much dissappointed with them. Will never buy samsung anymore.:mad::mad::mad:

There's no chance of someone knocking it off the couch, or anyone hitting it and we don't own any animals. She placed it right next to me when I was sitting there. There was no one around me, I didn't touch it, it did not move from its original position, and my wife did not drop it while plugging it in. This is why I'm so dumbfounded: not five minutes before, the screen was fine, during this entire timeline the phone was in my presence, I did not witness any impact or dropping, and now the screen is inexplicably shattered.
My wife called Samsung about it. They said to go to Best Buy and talk to the Samsung rep there about it. The rep noted that the phone gets exceptionally hot when charging, and indicated that it could be related to the screen cracking like it did; the heat causing the integrity of the glass to be compromised (I'm pretty sure it takes a lot more heat than that to do that, but I'm not gonna argue if they're willing to replace it). He gave us a box to send it to Samsung, so we'll see what happens.

this exact same thing happened to my buddy's s6 and mine is doing it too

I have the same isue on my S6 edge as you . My phone was charging. Then i put it to my pocket and go to the work. When i take the phone out of pocket screen was broken from left upper side to left down. It start directly on the edge! My phone is 5 months old and i want to see what will say Samsung on it. here in Slovakia. But i have from begining problem´s with temperature when the phone was charged. It was pretty hot when using fast charger. And i have at home galaxy S3, S5 and note4 without this problem.

Gabriel

Mine did it in left hand corner no drops at all either and it looks like it's from the inside out there's no raised mark on outside it almost looks like a hair traped mine also gets extremely hot

I am having recently had the same problem with my Galaxy S7. I put it on the charger overnight and woke up to the back completely shattered. Was your issue ever resolved? The provider and Samsung all want me to pay to gdt it fixed and I feel that is completely wrong. I did not cause the issue. What happened with your situation with your wife's phone?

I had the same with my Samsung galaxy s7 edge this evening when I found a diagonal crack on screen from left to right out of the blue. I only had the phone delivered last month on a contract. I am taking it back!!

And like your wifes phone gets hot
It has a secure protective case
And plugged in at time .
And was not dropped or sat on .

I may contact samsung or provider if its a possible fault.
