Galaxy s6 edge suddenly shut down. Data lost. Unable to fast charging

My husband's Galaxy s6 edge suddenly turn hot and shut down. Showing updating when it restart. All the data and apps lost and unable to fast charging. Anybody can advise how to retrieve bck the data and fix the fast charging?

Welcome to Android Central! So it went through a full factory data reset? If that happens on its own, it's presumably from some catastrophic firmware glitch. Any locally saved data is wiped with a factory reset, so I'm afraid you can't retrieve that data (unless, of course, it was synced or backed up to the cloud somewhere).
