AC Question

After the 5.1.1 update for my SM-G920F the "wallpaper motion effect" as Samsung calls it no longer works. It is turned on but it doesn't work. Am I the only one experiencing this?
I really hope Samsung fixes this because I thought the effect was pretty neat.

Mine would revert back to the stock wallpaper every time i restart my phone, but the wallpaper in the lockscreen is just fine. The lockscreen and the homescreen have different wallpapers. That happens every time i restart.

Hello,

I have also the same problem here. The problem should be something with the samsung keyboard. If you turn it off or remove it, the parallax option will not working anymore. There is a bug in lollipop 5.1.1 if you're on a 3th party keyboard software. I'm using Swiftkey for example and it works fine, just without the 3D effect.

I see the option to turn it on and off but even when I turn it on again it will not work. Still no effect.
Even factory reset might not solve the problem. I received a mail today from Samsung. They said that more people with a samsung S6 have the same issue. Android, please fix this issue.

Thanks

Hi Naif,

I'm afraid there's not a solution yet. The issue has been reported to Samsung and Android. You even can't downgrade back to 5.0.2 with factory reset. We have to wait until there's a fix.

David

Hello again,

There is another way to get back the parallax 3D effect.
Go to your google store and search for "3D parallax background."

After you install this app, you must search in the settings and activate parallax. There is also a way to set the way how fast icons can move over your screen.

It works now here on my phone. You can choose a background from the app itself, or you can select your own background wallpaper.

Good luck. It works great now!

David
