So I've had my S6 for only a few days now, but now even just with light use, it starts to overheat almost to the point where it hurts to hold it. Does anyone else have the same problem, or have any solutions?

Thanks

Factory reset it since you haven't had it very long. If problem persists, return it to have it swapped. If you're past your return period, file a warranty claim with Samsung to get it fixed.

I thought this was a problem of every S6, if you are saying it would be returned I begin to be worried :/

I bought an S6 two weeks ago. Had same issues. Tried everything, wiping cache, factory reset. Nothing worked. So I thought the piece is defective. Got it refunded. Then I bought a new one from a new store in a different country in Europe. And I still have the same issues. Is the phone in general defective?

I had the same issue, my battery even expanded and made the phone separate. I was told by Samsung to turn off wifi, location, Bluetooth.

So what did you finally do? Did you get a replacement? Is the issue finally solved?

Well at first Samsung said that they don't cover physical damage and they would not cover it under warranty. They said that I must have left it in a hot car. Yeah right, I had just paid out right for my phone since I have a old unlimited plan. I baby my phones and my old s4 looked practically new when i upgraded. So there is no way to I would abuse my phone. Samsung and myself went back in forth for about three days. They said it was my fault, and I said their phone had over heating issues. Which of course they denied. Finally they agreed and told me the CEO had made an exception for me and they were going to cover it.

I honestly think it has to do with the battery and the rapid charge. Its defective and makes them over heat. I had an old s3 and s4 and never had issues like this. The s6 has been the most pproblematic phone I have ever owned. In fact its at a Samsung repair center again for the second time. (Software)

This is crazy. Paying 600 euros for so much trouble..wow. I think the whole production system is at fault. I had problems with two successive S6 thinking first was a defective one. I have had this new one since three days. I should go to the store and ask for a refund rather than a replacement coz I am sure the replacement would come with same issues.

I would just get my money back if I were you. It's not worth all the hassle. I think they come with one year warranty (software) but after that your out of luck unless your buy insurance through your wireless carrier.

All of them overheat. It's a factory defect that Samsung is playing off.

wgat should i do as i use my phone alot as i work and do business

I would say try doing a factory reset of the phone. If that doesn't help, you should make use of the warranty and get it repaired.

I had a similar experience from the first day I bought the Galaxy S6. After two days I upgraded it to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and suddenly the overheating disappeared! And even the battery life got longer :) So try this if you still have Lollipop on it.
