Galaxy S6 review - Mobile Syrup

Real world testing will be the ultimate review. As long as I get the day out of it I'm good to go, I have no intention trekking across the Congo watching vids, listening to 20,000 songs, and playing games (I'm miss the experience anyway if I did that).

Trekking across the Congo watching vids.....:D

See one s6 edge on demo at Wal Mart. 32gb and system memory use around 15gb...

But you shouldn't have to cripple a device in order to get a days worth of battery life. At least I refuse to do so.

I agree with this statement, but for me and the way i look at it...not many phones will exceed the battery consumption of the S6. Again, this is coming from a Nexus 5 user and a user of battery poor phones for all of existence since the iPhone 3G. I've never had a great battery phone, so utilizing and making adjustments is just common with me. Whether that bad or wrong is another story. Like many have stated, if you're looking for a smartphone that has quad HD, will allow more than 1 day of battery life and a removable battery/sd is required, S6 is definitely not for you.

Here is may take. Goodbye swappable battery and expandable storage.

1) Swappable Battery

A smaller battery is powering a more energy efficient screen and processor. QHD screen and 30%+ more energy efficient, more powerful processor. It appears from the most recent reviews, it appears comparable to it's bigger brother powering a less energy efficient slower device with a lower resolution screen and fewer goodies. With comparable performance, we have rapid charging and wireless charging. There are also power banks and other portable charging options. I have never seen battery being swapped ever. Not in a mall, hotel or airport.

2) Expandable Storage

With a smaller TouchWiz and less Samsung bloat ware, there should be more useable storage in years past that 32GB should be fine and 64GB is even better. I haven't saved anything on my SD card in so long that I haven't missed on a 16GB device with more bloat and a heavier TouchWiz footprint. Cloud storage, data streaming, and external hard drives offer great alternatives to off load the pictures, videos, songs and files that haven't seen the light of day in years. No more digital pack rats.

If the trend toward less bloat and lighter TouchWiz as well as increasing base storage base levels and more, efficient and powerful processors and higher resolution screens continues, these two design choices will no longer be missed.

You won't miss those design choices. Others will. Don't post like you're speaking for everybody.

Not making any demonstrable statements. Just my humble opinion only. We should all feel free to express our opinions. There is no blanket statement or opinion that covers everyone.
