Galaxy S7 & Earphones

When I have my earphones connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7, and then receive a call, the phone rings through the earphones AND the phone itself.

I've rebooted the phone to no avail - please help.

Its not your phone, its just how it is. Drives me crazy. Message alerts go through headphone and phone too. I would think if a headphone is plugged in, sounds wouldn't go through speakers. So annoying when on the commuter train.

Samsung chat just advised me to do a master reset.
