Normally, I would have been into the thick of things with GS7. However, due to two family members who have been diagnosed with advanced cancer, I am a little behind in deciding to upgrade from the GS6 to the GS7.

From anyone who has migrated from the GS6 to the GS7, is it worth it? If so, why?

How much space does the OS consume?

Can some apps be stored on the microsd?

What card category is best and supported by the GS7?

Just wanted to give my best wishes to you and your family. That's pretty rough.:(

Thanks very much. Any input based on my questions?

Aw man. I'm sorry to hear that. I was wondering where you had been. I remember having quite a few discussions with you when waiting for the S6. So I have the S7 edge but I spent a little time with the S7. It's definitely worth it to me. Battery life is the reason. I think mine had like 24gb left when I got it. And you should get a class 10 card. I think the best it supports is uhs 1.

I too upgraded from the S6, & have zero regrets. Software feels better, camera focases quicker, & the battery life has been phenomenal for me. If you have an S6 & have the means to upgrade, you should.

As far as the SD card goes, the way I use mine is I save my photos, & pin my music from Google Play Music on the SDcard, & then that leaves the internal storage for my apps, including games. Plenty of space for me. Might not be enough space for you, but it is me.

Some apps can be moved to the ad card. It's a worthy upgrade for the battery alone. Gotta go check one out in the store. It feels awesome in hand

Thanks very much. I placed my order for gold platinum GS7 this morning and ordered a 200GB SanDisk card at $60,which is 85%off, as well as the Defender case in black. AT&T allowed me to upgrade with the two year contract price.

I went to Best Buy and played with the GS7. Couldn't rationalize the added cost of the Edge even with more screen real estate and larger battery. Kind of partial to not having a phablet in my pocket.

Has anyone tried the stock launcher? I am thinking about Nova Prime but does the license transfer to the GS7 from the GS6?

Has the the re-introduction of microsd affected performance?

Sorry to hear about your concerns.

I have both and use the stock launcher on both and am happy to. Themes make a difference to know.

I came from a Note4 so can only say that the SD card does not seem to affect performance at all. I have my apps on the device with videos and music on the sd card and they go really fast. No lag or anything.

How is the screen on time?

Only had mine for about a week but I am yet to struggle with battery on a daily basis. Depending on what I am doing I tend to have between 75% and 45% of battery left before I go to bed. Then I charge them up again for the next day. Edge battery seems to drain slower than the ordinary S7.

What color is everyone getting? Whose phone is going commando?

I have mine in gold. I have belt cases for them so use them naked so to speak.

I ordered the gold one from AT&T. It must be on backorder because my delivery date shows March 17th as the shipping date.
