Galaxy S7 user here. I was recently updated to Nougat. Having calendar issues.

Individual days are not opening on my calendar app. Some will eventually open after several taps. I have cleared the cache, rebooted, and even deleted call logs, texts, etc. I was recently updated to Nougat. My calendar (month view) is not consistently responding when I touch a day to open it. Has anyone experienced this type of issue?

Welcome to Android Central! Which calendar are you using? I found that with the Google Calendar app, you now have to tap of the date in month view (i.e., aim for the actual date when you tap). Tapping within the whole date square won't open it up any more.
