Finally coming to other carriers and possibly unlocked. This may very well be the device that stops me from getting a Note 8. This could actually be the perfect Galaxy S8. 4000mah battery, flat screen, rugged casing. Im sold.

The carrier has exclusive access to the device "for a limited time," but the phone will be available to non-AT&T customers at a later date. There's also the possibility that Samsung will sell it unlocked directly.

Better than every other year but c'mon Samsung stop with the exclusive crap even if it's for limited time. Show the carriers who's the boss like Apple does.

This is the first step in opening the door for future "Active" branded products. By limiting the Active to an AT&T exclusive, I feel that there were a ton of smartphone users missing out.

Curved screens aren't for everyone and maybe this has been realized. But there are plenty of active people that want the durability in a Samsung branded device. Just like the Note Line is available to many, the Active should be as well.


What are some ideas to turn it more into a line, instead of just a device.
Obviously, the S3 Frontier comes to mind when thinking of a device that goes best with the S8 Active.
Perhaps a more rugged Gear360, a rugged portable battery pack, portable speaker.
