Galaxy S8 - No always on display or black screen while charging

When I charge my S8 phone (with wire or wireless), the screen wakes (nothing you can do about this I read in previous treads). But when the screen wake stops, my phone also doesn't show the Always on display anymore, also it doesn't show the red indicator that the phone is charging. When I left it of the charging pad, the screen comes back on and it looks like it never went of.
When the wake up screen ends, the screen becomes black with the home button, arrow and dots in white underneath.

I would like my Always on display back.
