Galaxy S8, predictive text. Why it doesn't work like in previous versions of Galaxy?

I have a Galaxy S8 and the way predictive text works is very frustrating. In previous Galaxy versions, once you start to type a word the predictive text shows a number of words starting with that particular few letters. On my S8, predictive text widow shows a number of words and as I type a word, it doesn't change those words until the last letter of the word I'm typing.
This is not about turn predictive text on and off. I can do that. This is about how predictive text behaves.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Just get a new keyboard. Swiftkey is a good one.
