TBH I'm not all that impressed with the battery life, but I've never really been all that impressed with the battery on any Android phone I've had. It's mostly standby that kills it for me. I have an S8+ and an iPhone 7 Plus, and my iPhone may go down to 93% during a work day. My S8+ was down to 50% with only 45 minutes SOT

Umm no. Mate 9.

Just cause it has a bigger battery doesn't mean it will last longer. The s8 plus is definitely the best out there right now in terms of optimization and processor soc.

Between 9 and 10 hours SOT the Mate 9. 9 with above average use, 10 on average. As for processor, I wouldnt say the 835 is any better at all than the Kirin 960. Im guessing you've never used a Mate 9.

Just feels like a crime to not cover screen. I finally, managed to get a Klearlook screen protector wedged on between my Supcase Unicorn Beetle. Way the case goes together pushesh edges down. If I don't stick with this case though...Which I have a habit of changing quite regularly

So took my S8+ off the charger this morning. It's 12:30 am and I have 15 % left. Did about 2 hours with GPS navigation, 2 hours of streaming podcasts, 1.5 hours of spotify on LTE, web browsing etc. I did have it on FHD and mid battery optimization. Didn't have it charging all day, even in the car. I'm impressed.

Might try HAD and intermittent charging like I usually do in the car so I can see where I'm at.

I started a new cycle but my first full day ended with over 8 hours SOT. That's more than my note7. I'm on WQHD+ as well with brightness at 3/4.

Picture says it all. You have bad signal. On a good day I got over 7-8 hours SOT, I had good signal. 5-6 hours whenever I get bad signal and not on Wi-Fi.

Don't judge any phone with few days of use... Wait for few days or may be a month to see battery life and if the OS slows down... S7 edge had great battery life... But after few updates it was bad

There must be some radio you have on that is draining the battery or be in a bad service area. I tried just having it sit on standby yesterday for 2 hours and not touch it and it didn't even go down 5%.

Just a quick note from me: I usually head for bed with the phone charged all the way up to 100%. So, how far did it drop when I got up this morning, after the first night? 97%, which is outstanding. Better than I ever achieved with the S7 Edge or the S6 before it, or any other phone I've ever had. Bear in mind that I've got the Clear Cover case, which kills the AOD display....

Where I work we have to keep our phones in lockers for security reasons, so yeah service isn't good in that room. However, my iPhone barely budges in the same scenario. Android and iOS have similar battery life while using the phones. Certain Android phones better. Standby just isn't as good on Android though. I've never had an Android phone that gets the standby battery life iOS does. It's not a deal breaker. I just have to remember to either turn my S8+ off or put it in Airplane Mode when I get to work to preserve battery life.

I have an s7 edge. I never covered the screen since these curved screen are impossible to get a quality protector. It did fine.
