Galaxy Tab? Adapter (USB)

I have a curiosity with the adapter since I've opted into build my own with science!!! And an old USB cord from a motorola phone adapter (only needed free wire), the parts off the website that I got from the forum that inspired me, two 10hm resisters, instructions off the internet, and a soldering iron. Ohhh and its back ordered and I'm bored.
But anyways, has anyone thought about connecting a graphic tablet to Errrm the tablet? Even though we don't have any awesome apps like adobe, but that sketch app is all that bad.

Bought my USB adapter today at BB, they actually had it in stock...
Plugged my newer Sony camera into it via cable, it instantly recognized it and did instant upload of pics, I didn't have to do a thing.... just looked in my "gallery and they were there.... sweet!
Tried a 8gb SanDisk memory stick, worked great also!

For those of you with the USB-adapter:

What happens if you connect a DSLR (like a Canon 50D) to the tab?

Is it possible to use a (powered) USB hub to connect both a DSLR and a external drive to do backups?

Has anyone spent the time to see if a phone can be tethered with this for the wifi models to gain internet access while away? I suppose samsung or aneroid would have to include a driver?

Thanks,
Devan

In short, Yes. I connect my wifi Gtab through my DX with wifi hotspot. Whether you can tether through the usb port, I'm not sure. I don't have the usb adapter yet. I will pick one up and try it if no one else can confirm this operation works.

bluetooth also works using pdanet tablet.

I have the Galaxy 7- I bought the usb adapter and also a sd card reader- When I plugged it into the usb- I'm not getting anything. I downloaded Honeycomp on the Market- but, I don't know if it's running.

I know this thread is a little old, but can anyone confirm if the USB adapter allows writes to a hard drive, as well as reads?

If it's a hard drive that requires USB to power it, then no.
Works well on jump drives.
It may also work on hard drives that provide their own power.

dpomerance and cdf3, thank you very much. The drive I plan to use does have it's own power supply, so it sounds like it will work. I think I've found my travel photo backup solution.

Oh, wait; another question: Does the Tab have a built-in SD card reader, or do you need to use the USB adapter and an external card reader? In other words, is it possible to have an SD card and a hard-disk connected at the same time? Or would I have to copy files from SD to internal memory, and then remove the SD card, connect the HD, and copy from ROM to the disk?

Thanks again.

The Tab does not have a built in reader.
Perhaps you can experiment by plugging a USB bay to the Samsung USB port. Then plug both devices into the USB bay. I've never tried it, so I'm not even sure if it'll work.
I've tried the same setup by plugging a computer keyboard and mouse into a USB bay, and they both worked at the same time.
