Galaxy Unpacked: Z Fold 4

I wonder if the gap due to the hinge when closed is going to be gone this time. That plus not having the crease will be huge for me. I have gotten used to the outside screen and don't see the width as an issue for me.

Front screen being one handed is what I like most in ZF3. Responding quickly to messages or chats is easy on the go. If the font screen is wider just like other phones and need to use both hands that doesn't make sense to me. I always open it to wider screen when relaxed and watching content or multitasking.

Perfectly said. Front screen was not intended for long time usage, it's for quick "one handed" use.

Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to phones, of course. Personally, I'd like a little wider cover screen because I make too many mistakes typing. That said, I generally like the ZF3 and may upgrade to the ZF4, even if the outer screen is essentially the same.

I do agree that it's tempting not to upgrade because the changes are less then mediocre. My only concern with not upgrading is paying for another year of protection and losing value on the trade in 2 years later.

Enjoy the fold³ for another year stop worrying

I use the phone outdoors a lot, so i have to rely on the outside screen most of the time until I am settled down to open the phone up to use. I too would welcome a wider outside screen. No one is saying it needs to be as wide as the Note 20 - but wide enough so that certain apps aren't screwed up on display. Also, with a case on it - it makes it more difficult for me to type on it - however to me that is not a huge issue. The rumors point that the outside screen bezels have shrunk thereby increasing the wideness of the screen a little bit. I'm interested in seeing if it makes a difference. It would be a plus if the stylus worked on the cover screen and that the cameras were of the quality as the S22U - but I understand there's only so much you can cram in there I guess.

Never had a problem with the crease - even if it is visible, it never bothered me for a second.

I will likely upgrade from the ZF3 to ZF4 due to the trade-in value but we'll see. The free Samsung premium care is going to expire on my ZF3 so another incentive for me to consider moving on.

I've been firmly in the camp of waiting another year and continuing to use the Fold3. I've written elsewhere that I am really compelled by the GW5 Pro. Certainly more so than the Z4, based on leaks. However with the advance credit and a Note20U ready to trade in, IF the cameras are legitimately better, I could be swayed!

I agreed, I am too looking forward to GW5 because GW4 sucks with battery life since Google OS is literally sucks the battery life out of it.

No go with the GW5, no rotating bezel. I can get 2 days worth the 4, that's plenty good

To be honest, the rotating bezel is cool. I find myself not using as much as I should. I have to see the actual device before deciding. Regardless how it might turn out. If the battery life is better than GW4, I'm game.

I am sticking with the Fold 3. Bought mine in December, Best Buy had a great deal on the 512GB version. Bought mine and really don't want to start making payments again on a phone. Samsung would need to offer a real surprise in the Fold 4 to make me interested. So far the leaks don't look like something I would spend money on right now.

Anyone got the $200 bonus pre-order email from Samsung yet??
Samsung.com website is not working either, lol
Also dont forget to use Rakutan for 10% cash back.

Now that I've seen Galaxy Unpacked, I will say that it looks like I would only upgrade from ZF3 to ZF4 because of the higher trade-in value. I really didn't see anything that would otherwise make someone with a ZF3 feel any need to go to a ZF4.

Oh, the other reason would be the free Samsung Care+ for a year again since the one they gave me on my ZF3 is set to (or have) expired, I believe.

But honestly - didn't see much new (as expected from all the leaks). 50 MP camera.. a few millimetres wider screen.. better under-display camera processing? I guess we'll need to see more hands-on stuff.

I'll probably trade in, but I imagine the ZF5 would be more of a reason to trade-in. ZF4 seems to still target those "new" to foldables I think.
