Have folks registered for the rebates for the products to be unveiled in the next Unpacked event on August 10 (9am EDT)? If past history is correct, in about a month or a little more than a month, many of us here will be holding onto the Z Fold 4.

My Z Fold 3 is my secondary phone (along with an (yikes) iPhone 12) at the moment while I've made my S22U my main phone. I had previously mentioned that I would like a wider cover screen and I would see what comes along in the next iteration to see if I would be interested in it further. If the leaks are to believed (and Samsung leaks have been pretty accurate - probably because I feel Sammy leaks them themselves) - I don't think the cover screen is physically wider, but the bezels have been made thinner and the phone seems a little shorter lengthwise. It will be interesting what comes out. I do suspect that I will stick with the S22U as my main phone however I might still upgrade my ZF3 to a ZF4 if warranted and keep it around as a second phone.

So.... it's soon to be that time again.. August used to be the Note month... and now it's the Z month. :)

I registered for the rebate, and so far I am not impressed with the leak or the specs for ZF4. Right now my ZF3 is flawless and I don't have any complaints that I can't handle. Nothing really stands out from the leak so far. We'll see once this device is released.

I registered but I'm on the fence yet. It's not sounding like much different. If it was dust resistant that would get my attention more.

Part of me wants to see if I can get 2 years out of the screen, but the other part says take advantage of high trade in. Probably depends on trade in amount and I would love to see the 12 months Samsung premium free again. If I have to start paying for the Samsung premium either way that may make me stay with fold 3.

Has anyone heard if the fold 3 spen is going to work with the fold 4?

I, too, was hoping for a wider cover screen so the leaked specs for the ZF4 aren't begging me to upgrade. But I am looking forward to the next generation. We'll see.........

I have not heard whether the ZF3 pen will work with the ZF4.

I'm sticking with my Fold³ see for next one

Did this mean you are sticking with the 3 and seeing what's in store for the 5?

I too think that if the trade-in is high, then I would take the plunge. I am also still interested in their concept scroll phone and wonder if that's not around the corner as well maybe next year.

I can't believe it's already a year!

Yeah keeping the Fold ³ it's in flawless condition and I really like it so no interest in 4 but definitely want to see the 5th generation, I would like to see the scrolling Samsung device also.

Wish the $200 rebate for registering came to Canada too. Probably will stick with the fold 3

Same here. I'm always interested in more hardware and this Note20U feels like it's burning a hole in my pocket to trade in (!) but my Z Fold 3 is in mint condition and I use it every day. If the Z4 has a measurably better camera I might be interested but I'd need to wait to see real world tests there. I'm significantly more interested in the Watch 5.

Honestly, spec for spec, I am staying with my Fold 3. I just can't see enough of an upgrade here for me to jump over. However, this does not mean it's not a worthy upgrade for others.

This is the curse of the Even releases.

Fold 1 - innovative, first one, shock and awe and VERY Bleeding Edge
Fold 2 - Fixes many lessons learned from Fold 1. Typical of a second gen release
Fold 3 - FINALLY got it mostly right. Especially the water resistance and the inner screen. Upgraded camera's and everything else. Worthy of an upgrade
Fold 4 - Fixes even more things from previous generation (mostly unnoticed tweaks and all that), upgrades to hardware, but nothing that is a generation leap forward

If the pattern holds, the Fold 5 will be something big. :D

Of course, this is all supposition and speculation, nothing concreate to support this, just my own personal view.

Wow just saw this video on the Vivo X Fold. The phone OS is useless for the US market but, WOW!!... This is the form factor and size I've been looking for in the Fold. I try to like my co-workers Fold 3 and can't get my arms around the narrow front and that crease does look deep. Samsung needs to take note for Fold 5.

Vivo X Fold vs Fold 3 @ 2:50 mark.

I'm fine with the Fold 3 size , front screen could be wider but you get use to it and the crease doesn't bother me . Improvement definitely welcome for the fold 5

I have to agree that the front screen is fine once you are used to it and the crease I don't even notice at all anymore.

The ONLY time the crease comes into play is when I need to slide my finger across the screen where the fold it, but even then, it's not an issue once you are used to it.

I use mine for reaching EVERY NIGHT (eBooks on Kindle) and the crease is not even noticeable. I don't get why it's this huge of a deal really.

I guess when people first see it and don't use it for long periods they think that way

It's unfortunate. I agree, when I FIRST got my Fold 3 (I did not get the 1 or 2) and saw/felt the crease, I was a LOT disappointed. After using it and having it for a while, I forget when I stopped caring about the crease because it just wasn't an issue anymore, at all. :D

I was to uncertain , played with it at best buy first couple generations and I liked the size but was worried front screen and crease but I said I have to give it a chance it's new tech and need more hands on before I can make a opinion and then it grew on me the longer I had it .

I think it's best phone to date , only issues I have is finding the right case I want it just not a lot of good selection for it
