Same here. I loved the 5 pro. Battery life was and is still excellent.Upgrading from 5 Pro to the Ultra. $350.00 trade in and $50.00 reserve credit was hard to pass up..
It's weird and maybe it's too soon but my watch 6 usually when I wake up would be on 40% at least and the past 2 days it's been on like 5%. I mean I charge it everyday anyway while I'm in the shower for work but maybe it's still learning my usage. I also turned my brightness up when I got it so I turned it down some last night to see if that matters. I also have it set to turn on when flipping your wrist but my old one did that also.Rose4UK, I got the 40mm. The band I didn’t care for was the cream colored sport band. It was just too thick for my preference. I should have chosen a fabric band, I think I would have liked that better. I’m happy switching out to the band I had on my watch 6.
Yes, the 7 has a sharper display. I’m comparing the 40mm 6 to the 40mm 7. The size is the same but the display on the 7 is easier to read and I’m using the same watch face. While it is not a huge difference, it is a noticeable difference. Battery life seems the same, but I always wait several days before I pass judgement on battery life.
Should I give it a few more days? I got my watch 40mm Friday and the battery is still bad tonight I just got home from work and it's on 16% I put it on the charger for 10 or 15 minutes got it to 48% and put it back on. I don't want to have to do that every night. My watch 6 I always woke up with 40 to 45% and when I showered I would charge it. All my old setting transferred over I do lift my wrist to wake and the only difference is I am using a new watch face that came with this watch and it's not animated. I don't use AOD. I know phones need a few days to learn your usage and I am guessing the watch does too maybe but it's already been 5 days. I sent my old one back today. Maybe it's waking up to much while I am at work and I don't notice it from my arms moving around I don't know or my brightness is too high.
It's 10:30am I just woke up after it was on 48% when I got home at 11pm last night cause I charged it a little when I got home. I woke up and it's dead something is wrong. At work I mostly just look at the time alot and send a reply from facebook messenger or text that's it so something is definately wrong. I need to go through my settings I guess I doubt it's the new watch face I'm wearing. I just don't get it.I would be annoyed at being that low end of one day. Are you starting out 100%? I have the 7 ultra on order, so I'm watching for these reports to decide if I just cancel the order. I know the ultra has a bigger battery, but if your starting out with full charge that seems bad, but don't know how hard you use it either, are you using LTE, playing music thru it, texting off it a lot, all those things can drastically effect battery life.
Well it's similar for me I wake up sit at my computer drink coffee watch a little TV I have a disc right here on my desk. It's on the charger now and will be at a 100 when I leave for at 1:00. But on my watch 6 I could go all night and wake up to 40 or 45% but would still charge it to a 100 every day. I've never had watches be on 5 to 8% or died in the morning after 48% last night. I was on 16% when I got home so I charged enough to wear it to bed and then it was turned off when I woke up. It kind of feels hot underneath from charging not real hot but something may be wrong. I'll give it another day or so. Should location be on or off?I currently have the Watch Ultra -- just traded the Watch 5Pro. Following use profile applies to both:
I keep the little disc-shaped charger next to my TV chair and drop my watch on it while watching TV every evening. When I finish and head off to bed, I put the watch on with 100% charge. I have AOD turned on, wake on movement, LTE active, GPS on for 10,000 steps or more per day, calls and texts on the watch from my phone.
When I settle in for the next evening's TV time, I typically have about 70% charge when the Watch Ultra goes back on the charging disc. Rinse and repeat.
I usually put mine in sleep mode and didn't last night maybe that's why it drained from 48% to 0 cause of the wake when you move your wrist. Maybe I should turn that off and maybe try AOD.Charged my ultra to 100% last night, it used about 20% overnight. I woke up with 80%, and reported 2 day and 3 hrs left. I do have a night mode/routine setup on phone which sync with the watch for the bed time. Both phone and watch go into do not disturb during sleeping hours. The watch display will go dark during the hours. It will help reserving watch battery. You can still see the time by pressing the home button once.
I have a sleep mode coming on automatically at a specific time. I set it on the phone. My watch is set to sync with the phone.I usually put mine in sleep mode and didn't last night maybe that's why it drained from 48% to 0 cause of the wake when you move your wrist. Maybe I should turn that off and maybe try AOD.
And mine used to do that I used to set a time that I go to bed and a time that I get up in my watch would go into sleep mode at like 1:30 in the morning and come back on about 9:30 10:00 in the morning but then it was putting my phone in sleep mode too and when I got in bed sometimes I'd like to mess with my phone for a little bit before I fell asleep. So I must have changed something. But I'm still confused I'm already on 39% from this morning at being on a hundred before I left for work at 12:30ish. I put adaptive brightness on and the only other thing it can be is me turning my wrist so much but that never drained my battery on my old watch. So I guess I'll turn that feature off tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.I have a sleep mode coming on automatically at a specific time. I set it on the phone. My watch is set to sync with the phone.
Well I guess I need to check my settings I don't think I have a battery saving on and I don't know about a night mode I guess I need to check my settings Where's battery savings under on the watch or the wearable app? Cuz this is ridiculous to be on 39% at 7:30 and I have another 3 hours at work. What happens if I reset it but then put my backup back on does that mean it'll still do it? I really don't want to reset it and then start fresh.Going from 48% to zero overnight seems wrong. I charged my watch to 100% last night. I wore it overnight for sleep tracking. I haven’t charged it today. I’ve worn it since I got up this morning and it is currently at 70% at 1:20 pm. The first night that I wore it overnight for sleep tracking, it went from 100% to 90%. I don’t have any battery saving or night mode options turned on.
Well mine wasn't in sleep mode last night but it still shouldn't have drained from 48 to 0 from me moving my wrist around that much I don't know maybe that's what happened but I've always had wrist awake on my other phone but that's my last result of what it could be I don't know and I don't use always on display. Maybe my power saving mode came on cuz it was so low do I need to turn it off if it's on I guess I need to double check my settings I'm going to call Samsung tech support tomorrow maybe I hate to have to reset the watch though especially to start over from scratch. It's awful I'm on 14% since 12 or 1230 this afternoon. Mine just said power saving mode turned on 12%, I just shut the whole watch off I'm so irritated I might just have to reset it.I don't have power saving mode on during sleep mode. My sleep mode turns do not disturb on so the watch face does not come on if my arm moving during sleeping.
