I'm tired of having 2 photos apps. Should I disable one? What do y'all do? This isn't necessarily an S10 thread, but just want some opinions.

Thanks

I'm thinking of using just Gallery. Has more editing features such as drawing on photos. Google photos doesn't even allow it.

I use my gallery because I just like the layout better, but I do keep Google Photos active so my photos get backed up. If you don't have another backup solution for your photos, then you may want to leave photos active as well.

ok good point. I did notice that gallery doesn't seem to back up anything, and with Google's unlimited storage it's hard for me to justify disabling it

Yes, I use camera upload in OneDrive where I have 1TB of space and my photos get uploaded as soon as I take them. I don't store anything in my Google account.

Oh, you can easily tell the system to back up the Gallery photos to your Samsung account backup. But you'd end up buying more space.

I have the photos on the SD card (NEVER on the phone itself), backing up to Google Photos, AND backing up to OneDrive.

I use both. Mainly gallery, but I back up all my photos to Google photos & searching for specific photos is just easier with GP.

I use Google Photos for (unlimited) "High Quality" backup, as well as OneDrive for full-res pics (part of my Office 365 subscription.)

I use Gallery for everything else related to Photos: browsing, editing, organizing, etc. I love that I can backup, restore and transfer every album as I created it in the Gallery app.

I use both , as they both are back up one to Google and other to Samsung .. so if I want to clear space on my Samsung gallery I'll shift to Google photos and load them there. I like options

^^^What he said.

I have moved all my pictures online to a NAS Synology, using it's Moments app. It does the cool staff as face tagging but keeping your privacy.

Best decision ever.
