It depends if that Costco deal is legit( the bundle)....If it is then I'm definately going to costco.

Its not like you all havent been waiting for How long anyway? lol jk.. its a nice device and I know that Moto and VZw have plenty in stock but that costco will be limited on the bundles from what I hear..
I stopped by the Costco in my area (Kansas City) and they said the deal was INDEED legit and they were eager to start selling. They gave me their private kiosk phone number so I could call and check with them if they would have the phones ready on the 8th. These guys seemed as excited as I was.
Due to 5 faulty Charges(refurbs) maybe 6, and thanks to the better business folks I will be getting mine shipped the day it is released. I've been hearing both good and bad about the phone here and elsewhere so I'm not holding my breath that it'll be the greatest phone. But it sure as h3ll cant be worse than what I have been dealing with 
Just read on another site though that the 8th isnt the official release date now and that blog from the reviewer was just updated recently saying that. So as I said, I'm not holding my breath or being too overly optimistic just yet until its delivered to my door.

Thursday is the release date. All of the new ads have the 8th, plus I was just at my VZW store trying to get some info and all he said he could tell me was that they would be available on the 8th. He also mentioned they will probably have their full stock in by Tues. Said that besides that I know just as much as him. I wanted to tell him that I probably know more than him, but since it's his job and all I didnt think that was right! 
Droid-life just tweeted a pic of a vzw screen showing 100,000 units availiable at launch...I think everyone wil be able to get one without issue.

You might want to consider a flip phone (that moto razor is nice). If you've gone through 6 charges, something is much more likely to be wrong with the way you use the phone, than the phones themselves.
My game plan is easy. Been going to the local V store for the past month driving the sales people crazy with arcane phone questions that they can't answer and also playing with all the phones. I figure if I promise to stop driving them crazy, they will save one for me. 
Hey, this will be the first phone that I plan on purchasing at launch. Is it typical for new phones to be available on launch day on amazon wireless or wirefly (and if so at a discount)? Or does this vary by phone/carrier? Debating driving two hours to Costco for the bundle on Saturday but nervous of the phone selling out by then...

I like how the sale wont' be limited to VZ stores only. I would still prefer some sort of pre-ordering.
Looks like I will be driving about 30 minutes to my local Verizon Store. I called the store today and they said they could not do any pre-orders, the only thing they could do is hold the phone for a few hours on Thursday if I called them in the morning. I am working until noon on thursday, so hopefully I can call them right when they open at 10 a.m., and get the phone held until 12:30. If that does not work, then I guess I will just be ordering online.
I think it's a decent amount. Let's keep in mind that was on September 2nd, it's now the 6th and won't launch till the 8th. I hope they have increased the supply. I'm sure 100,000 is enough for launch day, I know I'm ordering it online as soon as it pops up on early Thursday morning and have it on Friday, just like I did my X. That amount is for online orders, so unless 25,000ish people in each region order it the first day there shouldn't be a delay....hopefully. I can't remember how many X's they had on launch day but I know they sold out the first day (however, the X was offered to anyone who hadn't upgraded in the last 12 months to compete with AT&T's I*hone promotion, so maybe there will not be as many people trying to upgrade at the same time). I just want my phone! I am in Boone, NC (Appalachian State University) instead of being home in Charlotte so they don't have any "official" corporate Verizon stores here and I don't wanna deal with the hassle of trying to upgrade at an authorized retailer. so VZW.com it is for me.

How early did the X show up on VZW for order? I'm just wondering if it's worth checking after midnight on the 8th, during the night, or just first thing in the morning. It's been a long time since I've used Verizon's system for something like this and I don't know what their standard behavior is.
Also, anyone know if it would be wiser to do the phone and accessories separately or all at once? I really really don't want an Amazon type case of "waiting to ship your order until all items are available" situation.
