I am totally screwing this up somehow...

I've installed the CM7 nightlies (3 and now 4) and have been unable to get the gapps to work... no market, etc.

I've flashed the gapps from the wiki site twice. I showed market (since gone), but it just flashes back to the home screen. Gmail FC's.

I tried logging in to youtube (Also now gone), and it gave me a "trouble with authentication" error.

Any ideas?

More detail:

I burned the CWR image (8gb_clockwork-0.1-ext4.tar.gz) onto an 8 gig chip; copied the nightly and the gapp of the CM wiki (CM7) Are those the right ones? The CWR says 3.0.0.5 when it's in recovery; rom manager says 3.0.0.7.

The gapps set I ran was gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip of the CM7 on the CM wiki.

So, I reinstalled everything, ran the correct gapps again... and now even the youtube app is gone so I don't have any way to activate the market even if it was there... which it isn't.

At this point I would follow these instructions to install a clean rom.

Get the latest v5 nightly too...not sure what's changed yet but it's the latest.

Make sure you do step 10, Under mounts Format system, data, cache. Do NOT format boot!

Then before leaving CWR and rebooting install the CM7 GAPPS zip from here Latest Version/Google Apps - CyanogenMod Wiki

then reboot

I don't know why that wouldn't work. Ive done it 5 times since I got my nook and once yesterday on a friend's new nook.

Hope that helps!

Ahhh... the details.

I THOUGHT I had burned the 8gb_clockwork-0.1-ext4.tar.gz, but I had, in fact, burned the non-ext4 image.

Thanks so much for explaining it in such a way that even *I* could figure it out!

this is off subject but I saw you had a similar prob and was hoping you could HELP!

My nook is stuck in the "customized nookie froyo" screen, I followed the Restore Nook Color back to Stock, or tried, but it just boots back up w/this screen. It won't boot to my SD card, and it won't stay powered off, it will shut down for a second or so then is back up with this screen in motion

any ideas, please???
