The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom has the correct software. It seems like it would make a great pairing that will meet your watch/phone/camera needs. A triple threat combo!

Funny, I was checking the K Zoom out on Amazon yesterday, and would be interested if it works as well. It's either that, or getting the Sony wx220, which is the smallest digital cam with 10x optical zoom I could find.

Unlike the Sony wx220, the Samsung Galaxy S5 (K) Zoom is a 10X zoom camera PHONE with KitKat. It will(should) sync with the Gear S.

I know. I am going back and forth on smallest possible camera vs camera with phone/Android.

I think I read here on AndroidCentral in a K Zoom thread that it suffers from dust getting into the lens (common with moveable telephoto lens and it is in your pocket all the time). Plus someone mentioned either the K Zoom or Galaxy S5 Active (another phone I have considered - I think only 8MP vs. standard S5 16MP) doesn't support KIES properly, thus may not support Gear S even with KitKat.

I'm still not clear if the Gear S will pair with ANY V4.3 phone or just those that Samsung lists as compatible? I would be nice to get a clear answer on that.
