I am not receiving vibration alert when receiving new notifications. In settings, I have selected the option for STRONG and I've tried extending length of the vibration. I purchased two S2's and both have same problem? Anyone else having this problem? Is there another setting that I'm ignoring?

Do you have vibration set on the apps themselves? I'd test one or see if that may or may not be an issue. I noticed on Android Wear (Moto 360), I had to do this. Which was already done when I switched over to the Gear S2.

I did notice yesterday that sometimes it didn't vibrate, but mostly does. I sent myself a notification, and stared at the screen a number of times and saw the notifications, but no vibration. Am monitoring this close today to make triple sure.

If you have your phone on, then I don't think it will vibrate. Make sure you phone screen is off.

This is controlled on the Phone in the Gear App > Notifications > Limit notifications
Also make sure that you have the notification enabled for the app in Gear App > Notifications > Manage notifications.

yeah agree with having to have those settings setup like you said, but did notice that Messenger ignores the setting and won't send a notification to the S2 if phone screen is on, even if you have setting set to send em with screen on.

Guys,

Faced the same issue!! No vibration on notification received.

Solution : Do a factory reset on your Gear S2. Also uninstall the GEAR app from your phone.

This worked for me. Will monitor if I do face the issue again. Will keep you posted.

Hope this helps!!!

Cheers

I had the same problem : no vibration when I receive a notification. But now it is fixed after resetting the gear S2 and reinstalling the samsung gear app.
Thank you!

I tried this and it worked for a a little while, but the problem came back. If I shut the watch down and then turn it back on, it works again. I am finding that I have to do the power off/on every few days...

Has come up with a permanent solution for this?

What's is the setting to have them send them with screen on ?

Make sure your "block notifications" is not on. When you swipe down the screen, it's the one in the middle (where you can see whether is paired with bluetooth, adjust light settings, etc). My friend had that problem, and I was able to fix it :)

I am having the same problem, if you find a fix please let me know. This is one of the main reasons that I got the SmartWatch

I have a Gear S2 with a Galaxy S6 phone. I had issues where email notifications were arriving on the watch but not vibrating. I use the stock S6 email app (white envelope icon with red at sign).

I had to enable email vibrations on the phone first.

On the S6 (Android 5.1.1) Sounds and Notifications > Ringtones and Sounds > Email Notifications > (Select you email account) > Enable "Vibrate"

I usually prefer to keep all alerts silent on my phone and just have my watch vibrate. So enabling vibrations on the phone as well is not my long term fix.

I am a hotmail user, so I installed the Outlook App on my phone and enabled notifications in the Samsung Gear app, I then disabled notifications for the stock email app (also disabled vibrations for email as described above). I am now able to get vibrating email notifications on the watch and not on the phone... however the watch does not allow me to reply to emails from the watch!

So neither solution is 100% what I want.

I will try and find the solution I want (vibrating alerts on the watch only, with the ability to reply from the watch).

If anyone has any advise on this let me know!

I had this problem and I turned my watch off while putting on screen protector, I had my watch off more than 8 hours and it was fixed

I get my email notifications intermittently, for a while the watch vibrates, then I get the notification with no vibration, then I don't get the notification at all.
I have Note Edge and use the stock email ap, and I have the gear ap set to send notifications even when I am using the phone.
