Gear S3 Notification Dot Not Working

I have a Galaxy S3 Classic connected to my Note 8. I get the notification and vibration coming through OK but I never get the orange notification dot for unread notifications...does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm right there with you, so I'm hoping someone knows of a fix. My setup is a little different than yours as I'm using my Frontier with a Pixel 2 XL, but I'd say I get the notification dot maybe 30% of the time, if that. It seems completely random as to when it wants to show up.

On your Note 8, in the "Samsung Gear" app -> Settings -> Notifications:
Do you have the "Notification indicator" enabled?

there is also a setting on watch for that as well.

I didn't know that. But I did find it like you said.

Settings-> "Watch faces and styles" -> "Notification indication"
