Interesting question. HTC has it's footprint app but does the phone geo-tag the photo itself like Pre & iPhone?

GeoTagging off by default

Yes, there is an option to turn geotagging on. You must first enable GPS then turn on geotagging. If you every disable GPS then the geotagging option reverts back to off and you will need to manually turn it on again.
