Gestures or the buttons...?

I'm actually surprised that I'm enjoying the gestures! Im still using Action Launcher and I have Samsung pay on the lock screen and off screen so it doesn't interfere with the gestures at all.

I could go that route with Nova as well (and will for now), but there are times when I am using my phone and want to open Samsung Pay, so it's annoying to have to lock my phone and then bring up SP. (I also find SP with the screen off/AOD can be a bit finicky.)

Well, after reading all this, I didn't know about the gesture feature, so I tried it. I like it. Think I'll keep it a while. I dropped Nova also. My notification badges stopped working on a couple of apps so I contacted them thinking there might be a bug with TeslaUnread. Their response was they are dropping TeslaUnread and for something they are working on and recommended that I change the badges to "dots." (really hard to see a blue Dot on a blue background) So I turned off Nova for now. and I like the results. between it and the gesture, I'm liking pie better. Now if they'd just fix the text message individual notification fiasco, I'd love it totally.

if you guys are beta tester for Nova launcher can be glitchy just a heads up

I LOVE the new update, i think it has pulled me away from Nova and any other 3rd party Launcher, but i keep going back and forth with the nav bar options. i like how the screen looks with the gestures, but i'm a creature of habit, i'm so use to the buttons. what is your preference?

I haven't tried the gestures yet. I think that the Samsung theme system is one of the best I have experienced, but the new system has messed it up.

Buttons on the note.

Love the gestures on the iPhone, don't mind them on other droids but really dislike what Samsung has done, having to swipe in 3 places feels unintuitive to me and switching hands or changing between 1 and 2 handed use makes it worse.

YMMV

I use the gestures 100% of the time essentially same experience as the buttons I like samsungs implementation of it compared to my pixel. I use the swipe right alot works perfectly just like the double tap did

Can you explain the swipe right? I have tried and it does nothing for me.

The swipe right will only work if you have the guides turned on. If you like to keep them off then you can also install One hand Operation+ from the Galaxy App Store to give you more swipe functions.

that's what i did...but i've tried the gestures option, and i keep hitting buttons on certain app while they're open when trying to use the gesture...i guess i'll have to get use to that.

Is there an equivalent to double tap on gestures, to go back and forth between previous apps?

You guys should try one handed gestures with the goodlock Samsung app. Will never go back. I think it is much cooler than iPhones.

I'm starting to get used to the gesture and really like them, and I'm also using Nova launcher becuase I love the customization and extra gestures.

Yep. Seems to be a Nova problem. Not the only one since the implementation of gestures either.

For example if not using Nova and you swipe up for recent apps, the one you had open last comes to the front as it should. On Nova, it pushes that app to the right, which I annoying.

Going to message Nova about both.

Ah! Nova pushing it to the right! I had this quirk and never considered that it was a Nova thing!

It makes the lack of a double-tap feature to bring up the most recent app even more annoying. I hope Nova fixes soon.

I first didn't like the gestures but made my self use for 24 hours, now I love them.

I'm trying to keep it for longer than 3 hours without switching. did you have an issue with the nav buttons on the bottom of the app interfering with the gestures?
