Get a Droid X or wait for a new Droid?

Play with a Droid X and see for yourself if you like it. If you do, then purchase it. If not then don't. The iPhone 4 is a little older than the Droid X and thousands of people still buy it so the age of the phone shouldn't matter that much.

I've had my X since July 15 and it's awesome. Love the web browser, keyboard, phone features and such. I wouldn't wait for a 4G phone at least until like 2013. 3G is plenty fast for a mobile phone and 4G wont be widespread until at least 2 more years.

If you like a large screen get the X. I don't think there putting anything out size wise compared to the X just yet. I love my DX!

Another thing, that was very lightly touched upon by a poster, was the bug issue. When the x box came out (the original lol) I waited 6 months before I bought one. I'm glad I did because there were dozens of problems with the first production models. I take the same philosophy with phones. (hello iphone 4?) Plus the DX is just starting to really push out some awesome and refined ROMs. And hopefully (crosses fingers) the bootloader will be cracked soon. So all in all, If a new phone comes out, and your looking to root, it wont be happening the day, or the week, that the phone would come out on. Just another thought to think about.

That's true. Many new devices have software issues in the very beginning. So getting the Droid X now means that you are getting a stable device from the beginning.

If I buy an X, how do I know when it was manufactured? I wouldn't want to get one of the first production phones.

Also, isn't the new Incredible HD (Thunderbolt) supposed to be the same size - 4.3" ?

Yep, the Thunderbolt has the same size screen, but also has 4G and a front facing camera. But you will have to pay a couple of hundred dollars for it. You can get the Droid X for next to nothing. It depends if you plan to take advantage of the 4G speeds and video chat. As far as the new hardware for the Droid X, I would think that only the new hardware is being sold now. Good luck with your new smartphone, whatever you choose.
