I'd be willing to bet it's the cellular version. Not sure if anyone noticed but today they updated the site to show the value of the gear s2 to be 350(previously it was 300). Just wish I didn't already have the t-mobile version or else it would it as a better value for myself.

I was on chat with sales this morning and they insisted on being certain it is the 3g watch even though I pointed out the value discrepancy with Samsung's terms page. You can choose not to activate it and use the Bluetooth features.

It didn't occur to me about declaring the gift on my taxes. That may be a show stopper for me. I'd still have to pay money for it effectively. Unless it is considered like a rebate? Anyone a tax lawyer?

Also the upgrade promo code still works this morning and CS just said there is no expiration date for it but may terminate offer at any time.

They assured me I would have all info needed for March 4 claim time but I wonder how they could possibly know the WiFi Mac address without getting the box.

It just occurred to me how dumb Verizon would be to arrange for giving out free gear s2 without cellular connectivity just to save a few dollars. This is their chance to make money on data plans. Even if only some of them activate it, they'll make their money back in no time.

I had to order my phone by phone because my prepaid account wouldn't let me get it online. The CS rep with VZW told me the watch required a two year contract at $5 a month, otherwise I could get the VR headset directly from Samsung by a promotion rebate once I received the phone.

I have the watch in hand from verizon. its the 3g model. I'm guessing that the Verizon rep I spoke with made a mistake by sending me a free watch in 2 days. It shows out of stock on the Verizon website but that must not be true either. Anyone else get this deal as I did?

There was confusion on another thread. And people were reporting misinformation. Sorry I was just trying to help. Though I was told if I go device payments that I get a $25/month discount on my line, which over 2 years is $600. So the phone is essentially cheaper for me this way and doesn't lock me in.

Day of launch I pre-ordered in-store and was told the same thing. $8/24 months with a 2-year contract and eligibility for a Gear VR or a S2. I guess if they have a surprise for me, I'll utilize the 30-day return policy and regroup.
