Do we know when we place the order if we are one of the 30,000? Or would that promotion just not be available once they receive 30k orders? Only reason I will be going that route is for the free watch.

Also, does anyone know if the gear s2 classic comes in 3g? I'd like to sell the S2 and purchase this one to go on the data plan.

I believe it's first come first serve as in submitting the rebate. Also the gear s2 classic is supposed to be released on March 11th for 399 with contract.

So we can't submit the rebate until we receive the phone? I thought I read that someone already redeemed theirs and someone else even received the watch already?
 
So since I ordered over the phone and not online I won't be able to get the s2?

After reading that others have posted, I decided to contact Verizon as well. I just spoke to a rep via live chat. I specifically asked him if the Gear S2 that is included in the promotion is the data capable (standalone) version or the Bluetooth only version? I also asked if he could send me a link to where I could see the watch directly. His response was... " You would be able to connect it to your account with a $5 line access fee so that it would work without being tethered to your phone." He then sent me the following link.

He also said that he preordered the S7 and wanted to make sure for himself. He said that this he had a good source and its what he's been told and has been telling customers. Hopefully he is right because I am only interested in the standalone version of the watch.

I have received all kinds of answers from Verizon. One says I have to wait until Samsung sends me the phone, don't understand that one. Another says i will receive an email first week of March with the IEMI and .MAC so as to complete Samsung's online form.

If we have to wait for the phone to file our request, then why does Samsung open the online site March 4?

I wanted to go this route myself but when talking to a rep via phone, they made it seem impossible to get the same promotions and said that it's "online only". You would think the reps would want to be able to offer these incentives to help with their sales.

I would try to call again
 
When I called Verizon and was in the middle of ordering, the rep informed me that I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the promotion over the phone but only by ordering online so I stopped the order and did it online.

I just called and they informed me that it was on online deal only. And since I've been charged already I'm basically screwed. I asked when they will begin shipping and he said March 11th. To look for my phone around the 14-16th. I should of just waited and went to a vzw store I could if gotten it sooner. I don't want the VR wish they would have mentioned pre ordering for the s2 was online.

I think I'll just cancel my direct Verizon order and head over to BestBuy. The 64GB card and a Gear VR -- in hand -- when I walk out of the store seems like a better offer than trying to fight for 1 unit out of 300,000 between every person in the U.S. that pre-orders and get nothing.

Were you calling the sales # that is online or the regular VZW customer service? I tried ordering online and for some reason it wouldn't allow me to choose device payment plan so I called the # on that page and placed the order. The rep said I would still get the promotion and I confirmed with a supervisor as well. I will get an email from Samsung on the 4th asking for my order number and then when I receive the phone I will have to enter the UPC number to claim the watch or headset.

I'm surprised so many people are being told this. I'm thinking maybe there is a difference between the regular customer service you get by dialing *611 and the sales team phone number that is posted on the verizon order page.
 
I've talked to both and the conclusion is I have to cancel my preorder and turn around and pre order online tomorrow

That's odd. The supervisor was so sure that he notated my account in case there was any problems.

I can tell you with certainty that there is a huge gap between Sales and the Customer Service departments at Verizon.
 
I had a similar issue after trying unsuccessfully to order online on the Verizon site for several days on 3 different computers. It wouldn't let me complete the checkout. The VZW sales person confirmed with his supervisor that I would still be eligible for the S2 promotion. He said he found a policy that confirmed this, Document# 201612. He couldn't send me a copy of the document, but said I should be able to reference this document if there were any issues.

Does anyone on here have access to document# 201612?

Hopefully this doesn't become a huge pain, I'm worried about submitting my information for the S2, getting turned down, and then not even being eligible for the Gear VR or it selling out. Not sure how useful it would be, but I do have a recording of my conversations with them telling me this.

Whenever I tried to checkout, I just kept getting the greyed out screen below with three black circles flashing in progression. The number I called is in the top right of the image.

There is. Supposedly customer service wasn't able to do it over the phone but the sales team could. Still getting different answers on how these will actually be redeemed. They keep saying I'll get an email from Samsung on the 4th but I won't have the code until I receive my phone?
 
Anyone have info regarding whether the freebie offer for VR or S2 works when buying the phone through xfinity for the $200 gift card offer? Too bad I missed the $100 UPGRADE promo, they would have stacked.
