Get Note 8 or wait for Note 9??

Every year I say I'm going to skip the next generation Note because I'm so happy with the current one. And every year I get the new one. N7 was the one I probably would have kept; perfect for me. No way I'm waiting for the 9. I need the 8 like I need food. Especially using this S7E.

I think I am one of the few who actually LIKE my S7E...having said that, I am on pins and needles for the N8.

When the iPhone came out, I told myself I'd wait for the iPhone 2. When the iPhone 2 came out, I told myself I'd wait for the 3. When that came out, I waited for the 4, then the 5, 6, and 7.

As a result, I've never purchased an iPhone. I keep waiting for a better model.

I am hell bent on the Note 8. I'm a Note person. Have thoroughly e joyed pretty much most of the Note series. Have used every single one. The Note 3 was my favorite it was my first real experience(provided thru work but sadly now they just do iphones).

My thought has always been to not use the "well the next version is going to be better" as a reason to not get a phone unless that next version is soon. If the time is right for you and you can do it, get the phone because seriously - when the Note 9 comes out, you're going to wonder if you should wait for the Note 10.

I ususally only get new phones every 2 years, on a payment plan. Last year was perfect, had a note 4.. the battery needed constant charging (read only worked if power pack was on) and I got 2 different note 7.. 2 weeks before I had to hand it over for good, I sold my note 4 for parts.. to tell you how much I hated handing in the note 7 (with no issues).. that Sprint rep still doesn't like me.. anyway, I purchased a note 5 off of gazelle because I refused to not own a note.. I look forward to the note 8. Heck, I'd be happy with a fixed note 7. lol

If you keep waiting you'll never get a new one. The Note 5 is 2 years old. Go for the new Note 8. If the specs and size suit you

Lol, I'm still rocking a Galaxy S5! And my plan is to get the Note 9. If the Note 8 had the embedded scanner I would have gotten it. My current phone is still going really well, I just hope it lasts till the Note 9.

If you need a phone then look at what is out now and not in the future over a year from now. My head is spinning.

I like mine as well. I use the unlocked model and it got infinitely better after the Nougat update. Much like the Note 7; but if the debacle didn't go down, I'd easily have stuck with the Note 7 until it broke.

The Note 9 will most likely be 5g tech. when 5g drops I don't want to be stuck still paying for an outdated 4g phone.

I used an S7 edge while I waited for Samsung to fix the Note 7's. Then I got my Note 7 again, and when I had to give it back for good I reluctantly went back to my Note 4 because I couldn't go a year without the S pen. So I am getting this Note 8. I just hope I like it as much as that Note 7. I REALLY hope they have a good blue color option at launch. I wish they'd do the same exact coral blue color.

I had the Note 7 returned it and reactivated my Note 4. I loved the N7! I too was thinking of waiting to see about the N9 but I think my N4 is seeing its end of days noticing screen burn in argg. My phone is paid off so I did good there. I am cashing in 2 and a half weeks of vacation and saving some money to get the Note 8 ( I like not having a payment and that I can change carries without worrying if i would want too)I have been screaming for a lager than 6 inch screen for awhile now and they have finally done it and kept the sd card option, it would have been my perfect phone if they would have found a way to keep the battery removable lol...well and work on the fingerprint scanner under the screen ...
