Get rid of a certain status bar icons?

Hey all,

I use a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 (Global) and:

When I have headphones in, there is a headphone icon on the status bar. Is there a way to get rid of that?

Secondly, when I turn on mute, there is another status bar icon that shows the device is muted. (a bell with a slash through it.)

Is there a way to disable these? If not, that's okay. It just hurts my nitpicky brain.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't think you can get rid of the icons -- that's baked into the firmware. You'd probably have to root the phone and look for a way to tweak the status bar. The forums at XDA-Developers would be a good resource for that.

Check your settings, i know One Plus phones can disable icons .
