Get unlimited data on ungrandfathered lines!

There you go again. I asked you to explain how I did something wrong and all you do is make bare statements that I tricked or took advantage of someone but fail to explain what I did that was wrong. I made a request. The request was granted. No lies, no bribes, no deception, no threats, no tricks involved.

I've explained it several times now, you are simply choosing not to accept that explanation.

Also, there is no way I believe that you haven't reported this to VZW given your ties to them. So they know this is going on and they consent to it.

And for the record I do not work for Verizon Wireless, although I know several people who do, and no I haven't told any of them about this, though the thought has crossed my mind a few times.

I am a Verizon (and AT&T customer), and as part of my job I sell Verizon and AT&T phones, and have seen paper copies of the same documents about the data plan changes that leaked on here last summer, so I know they are legitimate.

Assuming that she is not currently on a smartphone then she is NOT grand-parented in like you are. This thread is about a glitch in Verizon's systems that lets reps add unlimited data when they key in the provisioning for unlimited mobile hotspot (anyone on tiered date is actually supposed to have tiered hotspot as well). The people who take advantage of this glitch have to live with their conscience because it's obviously not something that they are supposed to have and there have been at least some cases of it being switch back.

You make no sense Verizon should have to live with this mistake. The face that a rep authorizes this transaction seals the deal. And if upwards of hundreds (maybe thousands) people have been so called exploiting this so caused loophole and you want to believe Verizon would single out a minute number people bears no logic. Forevermore if Verizon really had a problem with this they would lolly gag with this audit process.

Live with there conscience lol I don't lose a sleep at night.

I never said the carrier would not honor what has been done through rep error. Please dont put words in my mouth.

I've explained it several times now; you are simply choosing not to articulate how what I did was wrong. And the reason you are "choosing" not to do this is because I didn't do anything wrong so it really isn't a choice. You can't articulate how what I did was wrong because it wasn't wrong. All you can do is make bare unsupported claims that I somehow tricked or took advantage of someone. Yet when I ask you to explain how what I did was a trick/taking advantage you can't.

All I did was ask for a feature to be added. It was. I didn't lie or bribe or threaten or deceive anyone.

And for the record I do not work for Verizon Wireless, although I know several people who do, and no I haven't told any of them about this, though the thought has crossed my mind a few times.
I know you don't but you sell their phones and make commissions from them so you are not unbiased. Your livelihood is tied to this company.

I am a Verizon (and AT&T customer), and as part of my job I sell Verizon and AT&T phones, and have seen paper copies of the same documents about the data plan changes that leaked on here last summer, so I know they are legitimate.
Again, no way do I believe you haven't reported this to them since it obviously upsets you. So they know about it and allow it go on and therefore consent to it.

I see then you admit that a rep made a mistake and therefore none of us have done anything wrong. Thank you, I will go on sleeping well at night knowing my conscience is clear.

And BTW, the only reason you don't do it on your ungrandfathered line is not because of any sense of honor it is because you make money off of VZW and if they found out about it they may stop your commissions, lol!

Most employers honor their employees mistakes. That doesn't make the fact that you tricked them into it any less wrong. I'm sorry that you dont see that.

I am mot on commission nor do I have quotas, nor was the device even bought at my work so your argument holds no water. I didn't do it because it would have been wrong to do so.

can anyone say whether this is still working or not?

so as of right now if you have a 4G phone, you can request to have a 2gb or 4gb MHS and if approved , it will add to your account, you get unlimited, then you cancel it via the web?

for what its worth, I am on 3G right now...if I look at "My Verizon" app on the phone, the cheapest mobile hotspot option is $50.. I assume tha tmeans my existing $30 / 2gig plan + $20 for 4gb.

Right? and your saying if I try to add that via my mobile phone, it will tell me to call Verizon right?

Did you even bother to read through the thread?

yes I read through all 19 pages...sounded like by page 16 it was still working, which was back in January. Pages 17-19 were mostly ppl ing at each other about whether someone was a vzn employee, and whether something was morally wrong, etc...

but with a mix/mash of posts on the topic, I wanted to clarify the actual process to see if this works or not. If I look at my phone right now, it appears I could order the $20/4gig hot spot for my 3G device (though this is supposed to be for 4g based on the original post)...but according to one of the posts in this thread, I "should" get a message telling me I have to call customer service. I have NOT tried adding this feature via "My Verizon" on my phone.

I want to know if I do this with my 3G device, and I add a 4G device on Friday...will the plan carry over or do I just need to wait and try this via the 4G device?

That sounds like the bundled MHS + data package. What you want to try to add is the MHS feature.

However, when I logged into my mom's iPhone account it says it is $20 a month for the 3G MHS feature + 2GB of data, which is cheaper than the $30/mos you pay for 2GBs without MHS.

I was able to get unlimited data for my mom's iPhone by calling and asking for the 3G MHS feature to be added. It was $20 per month, but it kicked her data plan to unlimited for $29.99 per month. Then I deleted the $20 per month MHS.

The only way to know is to try and see what happens. But it is definitely not the bundled $50 per month MHS + 2GB of data plan. That you can't delete the MHS since it is bundled with the data.

Remember to ask for a FEATURE.

Thanks. Should I wait till I get the 4g phone, or should I try it with my 3G?

Call and ask and then report back here and we will all know. Only way to know is to call and ask. But ask for the FEATURE.

No.

If you have a 4G phone, you call and ask for the 4G MHS FEATURE to be added for $30/mos. It is a stand alone feature. When (if) they add it, then it kicks whatever data plan you have up to unlimited for $29.99 per month. Then after that happens, you go online and remove the $30/mo MHS feature unless you want to keep it for some reason.

no did not have double the data. I "just" added 2gig's of data 2 nights ago though. I used to have unlimited...then downgraded to a dumb phone and lost the unlimited...then just signed up for 2 gigs.

only concern is doing the 3g plan and not letting it bubble up to the 4g once I get that.

Here's an article that spells everything out for you.

http://m.gizmodo.com/5872419/how-to-get-unlimited-data-on-verizon-right-now

You shouldn't have a problem switching from a 3G phone to a 4G phone. Just remember that you want to ask for the 2GB Mobile Hotspot Connect FEATURE on the 3G phone.

where can I view a list of these "features" that I can potentially add? The 3G one is probably not $29.99 for 4GB. So the 3G maybe is $20 for 4GB?
