CONFIRMING THIS STILL WORKS. I joined the forum just to say i love all of you unconditionally i bought 2 razrs off amazon on there penny sale and came across this. I had to call three times because the firs two reps caught on. But the third time i said yeah i would like to add the hotspot i already know all the details but online it said to call in. Now i have unlimited data and cancell the hotspots. Goodluck to everyone and get it while u can

The option doesn't appear for me under the Add Features section. Does anyone know why?

U can no longer do it online, u must call in and ask the rep to just add the mobile hotspot if u get lucky they wont catch on your not suppose to get the unlimited or in my case the rep wont care

Just stay with data plan you have now. Just call and say if you can add the 30 dollar mobile hotspot option. For me they said ok and added it. If they do it you should have unlimited data . Just remove hotspot after this is done so you wont be charged for it too

Who knows? This is honestly the only thread on the net with the info. If this gets big and spreads itll be fixed very soon, if it stays low profile this could drag on.

Unlikely... their rep screwed up and you benefited from it.

It worked for me. I got the razr and since they've extended the return window I will trade up for the galaxy when it comes out. Now that I have the unlimited data I can just transfer my plan without fear.

No, a rep cant directly add unlimited data but there seems to be a glitch in the system that unlimited tethering that is only available for grand-parented unlimited data accounts shows on tiered data accounts and when they select it it changes the tiered account to an unlimited data account. It will no doubt be fixed soon.

I had to register to say thank you! I found this thread last night after saying I was gonna bite the bullet and take the 4GB package. Walked in and upgraded, left, called Verizon and told them I wanted to add the $30 4G mobile hotspot (lady was surprised it gave me the unlimited data, but did it anyway), then removed the hot spot. Now rocking unlimited data on my new RAZR. Thanks so much!

Yeah, itll stay. Its your plan not a phone so if its in the account itll stay in the account. And im surprised above the csr noticed it gave unlimited data and let it continue. They obviously know what there doing and doesnt seem they care less about it.

Just curious though, does it matter where I buy the phone? Does buying it somewhere else and exchanging it affect the account since its from a third party seller?

Nah. Only thing is if you exchange i believe you can only exchange with the third party seller not verizon i believe.

But your plan, features stay in tact.

Unless they actually reverse your upgrade (and this would be called a return) your plan would not be changed unless you changed to a phone incompatible with the plan and features.
