You can change your plan without resetting your contract date. So your contract will still expire at the same date as it would have had you not changed anything and you will still be eligible for an upgrade at the same date.

You can change your plan all you want except you can't go from post-paid to pre-paid or terminate it entirely without paying the ETF.

I got that response twice. Third time, I got unlimited data. Keep trying. Maybe not tonight again, but try on the weekend.

Maybe they are training their reps better now?

I would definitely buy during the double the data special. Then if you can't get anyone to give you unlimited data, at least you would have double the data.

ok. only asked because I swore I read somewhere that getting in on that promotion could nix you from potentially getting the unlimited.

Hmm, never heard that and I bought during a double the data promotion and I was able to get unlimited data. All I can think of is that if you buy from Amazon Wireless, they have a penalty of $250 if you downgrade your data plan and moving from the 2GB (4GB if double the data) plan to the unlimited is actually 1 cent less and can trigger their $250 penalty.

The penalty is only if you buy the phone through Amazon and downgrade the data plan. I bought through VZW directly. No penalty if you downgrade the data plan if you bought from VZW.

yes its true. tomorrow is the double data promotion I believe. Either tomorrow or the 15th.

I just bought a Droid Bionic, so I am goign to call them and request they give me the 4gb.

Still working on the unlimited data...but not too confident I am going to get it.

Why are you not confident? I plan on joining Verizon tomorrow under the 4GB promo plan and I figured I'd try this as practically everyone who tried it got it. I don't mind trying a few times. I just want to know once it says unlimited data if its truly unlimited. So one can download 50+GB a day (theoretically speaking of course)

Well i have tried several avenues lately. Actually have another vzn rep (friend of friend) who is going to try the specific feature number route. Hope it pans out. Isnt it weird to call in though as a customer and have on hand a feature id/number?

• Talked to a Verizon rep who was a member of another forum I belong to. I do trust this person. they looked into my account but couldn't add the unlimited data because too much time elapsed since I had it fall off. This person however has not tried the hotspot item yet.
• Talked to another verizon rep of same forum, they were an independent authorized Vzn dealer, so don't have control over the systems, but reached out to someone who looked into my account...referenced the same 14 day elapsed period. If you have unlimited, and drop it..you have 14 days to get it back on. In my case, over a year elapsed. He is looking into talking to another person who might have authority to add the feature #/id method.
• Called last night, asked about hotspot feature...said all they had was the bundled one.
• Called today, but instead of hotspot asked if I could simply get my unlimited BACK since I have been with Verizon for 10+ years, given them probably $13k in those 10 years, and used to have the unlimited data. Got the same 14 day grace period response.

I will update once I hear anything.
