Getting your replacement Nexus 7...

That's a lot of bleed, but you probably wont notice it unless the screen is all black. I've even heard of people saying the light bleed goes away after some use.

Thanks for the response. I tried taking the back off and loosening the screws, which didnt work, and then tightening which didnt work either. But this isnt something that is found in most of these right, and people just aren't looking for it like I am? Because if not I think I'd rather try my luck again, I just want to make sure this isnt standard on a lot of them and people just aren't looking for it and dont see it....

The thing is if I press on that spot, the light bleed goes away since im putting pressure on the leak or opening I guess. I wish I knew of a way of just getting a piece of tape and covering it, I would so do that since its perfect otherwise...

Has anyone contacted Google support by email to replace N7? How long does it take for them to reply?

I had the screen separation issue along with the creaking noise when you would press down on the right side of the bezel, so I called in to GP support and they helped me go through the RMA. my new N7 is in the mail on its way to me now and it was a very quick and easy process.

I read via Reddit's Nexus 7 subreddit that going through email support is a hassle and you'd be better off just calling in. I called last Thursday to do an RMA, got the link and my new N7 is in the mail and should be here by Monday (as tracking info says).

So if you bought yours through Google Play and want to do a return/exchange, just call. I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes and the guy who helped me was knowledgeable and helpful. It was quick and painless.

I have a problem with a replacement progress. I got the two emails for UPS and a link for replacement. But I can not do anymore on the checkout page. I can not select "ship to" and also I can not click "complete your purchase" too. Here is my youtube link about my problem.

I called to google and sent email several times. They sent me new links. But the new links are same problem!!!
Please, help me and let me know what's wrong.

Check the address book in Wallet to make sure your default shipping address is where you want the replacement to ship.

The replacement tablets are all brand new, right? I don't wanna get a used or refurbished tablet. If I am, I'll just wait till the iPad mini or something.
nope all replacements for your defective nexus 7 from the google play store are all refurbished double taped in box to look like new, once you remove the back cover from device you will know that the replacement device had some type of repair work done, finger prints all over the place dust missing screws tape holding down wires that look tampered with. It sucks got my third double taped box from google will keep it sealed and sell it on ebay wait a couple of months and then buy again. Oh yeah almost forgot first unit had screen lift on left side and five dead pixels opend back cover and it was new no dust all screws in place nice and clean sent for exchange, second unit arrives double taped box open it turn on screen has light bleed on left side and eight stuck pixel white color removed back cover just to check check if this was indeed a brand new unit and it is not.

My original unit arrived and it wasn't in a "double taped" box. It still had finger prints under the back cover, the copper piece looks like it was folded and crinkled and put back flat again. There was also black tape holding things down. It was a C70 unit, don't know if that matters or not tho. It has a screen jumping/scrambling problem. New unit is scheduled for delivery on Monday.

My original was a C6, the C6 had no finger prints and all tapes holding wires and cables down was not tampered with all screws were in place device was nice and clean when I removed the back cover, sent back to google for the screen lift on left side and five dead pixels got exchange C7 model no screen lift issue but had light bleed from mid to lower left side and eight stuck pixels white in color, removed back cover looked like it was tampered with missing two screws the tapes holding wires in place had signs of being removed and placed back finger prints all over the inside of device and dust, called google to set up another exchange recieved a C7 model but have not opened im just going to sell it wait three month and buy again or wait for nexus 10. I think that google is taking all the returned defective nexus 7 and doing piss poor repairs on some retaping box and saying it's an inspection to make sure it won't be a defective unit when really it is a refurb that is why it is doubled taped then why was my replacement unit sent out with defects if it was inspected for it.

They wont guarantee that ur replacement wont have the same issue because they wont inzpect it. Juzt send you some other one in the box. Seems like 75% of these things were made defective. I asked google n said hey why cant u just check for screen lift dead pixel and touch responsiveness and give me one without. They wont. Instead just not guarantee it wont be the same. So i have a solid year of returning and returning:D till i get a perect manufactured one. Keeping ea h for max of 21days. Sigh.....

Got a call from google support today, person on phone asked if second replacement unit is free of defects told them it's still sealed in double taped box, I asked why is box taped over again his response was quality check, so then I mentioned why did my first replacement unit arrive defective then if they did a QC which also came double taped or resealed no response, like 20 seconds later told me if I wanted that I can return my second replacement for a full refund since it is still sealed if I wanted.

On the bright side' someone actually called you from tech support! That's unheard of, seriously.

So I just sent my 7 back due to the glass separation issue and I placed my order for the replacement device, but it didn't tell me how long it will take to arrive. Safe to assume 3-4 weeks?

How long did it take you to get your replacement?

I put the order in for my replacement the 3rd of September and its the 9th now and I still haven't got my email that my new device has shipped. My nexus 7 has the clouding and ghosting problem.

I would call them same thing happened to me. When I called they said it was sent, so it was re sent and this time I got it while he was on the phone.

I got my email replacement order confirmation on 8/29/12. Sent my old unit back on 8/30 and it was received by google on 9/5. No email that a new unit was shipped. Still waiting :(
any advice?

I called on Monday 9/10 about defective screen (keyboard kept repeating the "e" and "3" keys - so you couldn't type anything. They said it was a over-sensitive screen and would replace it. I called today because a new one had not been sent out and Google said there has been a problem with ordering replacement units and they hope to get it fixed very soon.

I asked them if they could just refund my money so I could purchase it locally but they refused as my Nexus 7 was all of 38 days old. I told them of Amazon's customer service - I once dropped a Kindle - completely my fault - and Amazon overnighted a replacement to me. I was without a unit less than 16 hours! Google could learn from them.

Why not just call back and slam them until they listen? They also told users who pre-ordered that they could not cancel their orders, but I had mine canceled because I refused to play their game of "you pre-ordered, but you must wait 3 weeks for your N7 even though Staples has it for sale down the street." It certainly wasn't easy, but they eventually caved.

Just got an email lol

"We’re contacting you to provide an update on the status of your Nexus 7 warranty replacement. We have verified and resolved an issue delaying delivery of these replacement devices. All affected deliveries will ship shortly.

Please rest assured that any delay will be accounted for when calculating the deadline for return of your original device."

Suppose that's good news lol
