Gingerbread for the Atrix 4G coming between June and July.

Total lack of updates and accessories. Will jump back to HTC asap.

what do you mean by that? since the release date the Atrix has been updated twice already... that definetely doesnt fit into category" total lack of updates".....

Honestly, after 3 HTC phones, the hero, N1, and G2, the atrix is the most disappointing phone I have ever owned. Not because the hardware sucks, it doesn't, but motor seems to hype a device, toss it out there and forget it. Total lack of updates and accessories. Will jump back to HTC asap.

Not only that, but the atrix was released with a kajillion accessories! o_O I don't normally use this emoticon, but, by golly, this comment would be where I'd use it! This has got to be the SWITCHSWATCH* reason I've ever heard someone say they're leaving the atrix because of.
Moto's Quality Control with the atrix, sure...definitely the atrix has some problems there. Just look at these forums. But a lack of updates (???) and lack of accessories (?????)...... please tell me we're being trolled here. Please.

So far I'm enjoying my Atrix, but like several others I'll wait to upgrade to GB till the rooting is worked out since I've got several root apps that I rely on.

I'm with you on that Kage. I have no intention of giving up root for sideloading (which I already have) plus an OTA version of Gingerbread. Once they start sending the OTA out, the cool features will be available to the custom rom developers, and I trust them a whole lot more than I do Motorola.

you may not say where you got it from but you sure could run this simple test I kindly asked about a few posts earlier i dont think such info would be considered classified.... in addition if you could test any 720p flash video embedded in the browser i (and i bet others too) would GREATLY appreciate... currently it is not able to play on froyo it even gives message" this video is not optimised for mobiles".... I dont think im asking for too much here... thanks again...

Just post a link of a video you'd like me to test..

this (and other embedded 720p) videos stutters horribly on my Atrix at 720p and it gives message "not optimised for mobile" while it plays perfectly, smooth as butter on Galaxy S II without any messages..... thanks a lot!

When I played it in place, from the page of the URL you provided, it played but not well, with frame rate of 3-4 fps.

I tried playing the clip through the Youtube app and it played perfectly smooth..

I then tried playing it through the Youtube webpage and again, perfectly smooth..

rhanks a lot! as i suspected....the problem is in hardware.
tegra has issues with rendering embedded hq flash videos.

It buffered continously on my PC. I think this is a bad video to do a test of the Atrix playback.

if you try just about any video from any website or even youtube, at 720p its gonna buffer on the Atrix. if this video buffers on your PC there could be number of reasons: from an outdated video card/processor/ram or something else is running when you try to play it and so on and so on. it plays on all my 3 PCs perfectly.
thanks

I agree with Trevalkin's previous posts about HDMI mirroring. I would love to have full HDMI mirroring with an official version of Netflix on my Atrix. 1080P video recording with GB would be a bonus.

I have talked to a friend that is the store manager at an AT&T store, he has informed me that a rep told him the update to Gingerbread will be coming in July.

As with most others at this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

Kind of sucks that Gingerbread releases for the Atrix don't leak like they do for other devices, including Motorola ones, but whatever.

Someone needs to leak the unofficial release so people can start working on ROMs for it already.

I figured this would've happened by now, especially given the presence of leaks for most other devices. Perhaps, since the Atrix (seemingly) did not sell as well as anticipated, there are fewer out there with their hands on it at the current time.

Looks like the bootloader will be unlocked so everyone can stop complaining about that.
