Looks like the bootloader will be unlocked so everyone can stop complaining about that.

We'll see if ATT lets it be unlocked when they push the software. Of course, this point only matters to those of us with ATT devices.

It will be able to be unlocked. Like on the N1 that came with a locked bootloader, it could be unlocked, but as soon as you did it voided your warranty. It'll be the same with the Atrix, assuming ATT doesn't tell Moto to keep it locked and encrypted.

How will the company know if you unlocked? unless you return the phone unlocked.

They won't until you need warranty service. When you take/ship your phone it they could deny the warranty if the bootloader is unlocked.

Do you think we will be able to still get the webtop hack and gingerbreak with the update? Also will that stop the netflix app from running on the atrix? I want to update the software but I'm feeling really upset that it will probably make all the hacks and related stuff unavailable.

Glad I haven't done any hacks yet. Anticipating this Gingerbread update (along with unlocked bootloader) an incredible amount right now. I'm ready for CM7, or one of the other badass roms, any rom actually.

Well hacks enable you to have features you couldn't otherwise get....flashing to stock is pretty simple but then I would update to Gingerbread to get burned and not have the web-top or root....sounds like a bad deal to me,oh so I take it back netflix will work just fine but still it sucks that they want you to go spend so much on the webtop screw ATT and MOTO for that.Theyre just thieves.
