Whatever you do, don't flash the RUU if you are rooted, as this will cause issues. If you want to be on the most recent update, I'd recommend looking at some custom ROMs around here or at Rootzwiki.

I wasn't sure what Adrynalyne posted. He knows a ton more than me, so he's definitely a good guy to trust, but without knowing the file he posted, I wanted to give you the warning to be careful what you flash.

There is a stock leak of the GB update that's floating around, and if you flash that, it'll cause issues since you are already rooted. There are also pre-rooted versions around, that will be fine to flash. Then, there are radios, which seems like the top priority for you at the moment.

With all of them, you should be sure you check the MD5 before flashing, and be sure you know what you are flashing before you do. With all the new releases recently, the key is to double and triple check before you do flash, and of course, if you have any questions, read around the forums and ask!

For those of you that were frustrated with Swype not working correctly with the HTC messenger and mail apps, those appear to have been fixed with this update. Hooray!!!

people actually use those? messenger is terrible compared to gosms. like not even usable to me after spending 5 months with gosms.

He said its the leaked one and its pre rooted too. I downloaded it already and its on the root of my SD card waiting to flash in clockwork. Can I install the radio you linked then flash the pre rooted gb leak zip file i got from adrynalyne?

I downloaded the update around 1pm central time. Took about 20-30min. I love the changes personal, the phone is moving much faster, front facing camera for skype is working, love the new catergorized apps(all,frequent,downloaded and verizon), love the new notifications menu (notifications and quick settings), facebook seems to be running a whole lot better, battery seems to be decent(still not the best). I know there were more changes, and I will check it out later today and report my findings.

People who used the leaked RUU are not necessarily rooted. Big difference. If you were rooted then you would be using something like Bamf Forever which is WAY better than the OTA. The people having trouble are non rooted users that are using an older ruu (like 605.0) and want to upgrade to 605.3. Adr has suggested that .3 might be considered a downgrade from .0.

I have a patch that will update 2.11.605, or 2.11.605.2, to 2.11.605.3 on teambamf.net.


It consists of:

Camera library updates (Which break google talk video)
Updates to logging applications for troubleshooting.
HTC Mail (in the form of Exchange)
HTC Footprints.
RIL library Updates (that appear to do nothing)

If that excites you, head on over and grab it.

I would like to update to current but I can't get into recovery screen. Any suggestions???
