For me, it was just checking again occasionally that got it started again. I did do a battery pull but it was at least an hour after that when I received the "update available" message again. Patience, Grasshopper.

Isn't that available in the Marketplace? I know it is on mine (pre-Gingerbread, Gingerbread is downloading now and will take several hours).
Did yours say update failed in the status?
I'm so sick of VZW and this BS. I have been trying everything for the last hour and a half, and am about ready to load the leaked version. How hard id it for them to make things just effing work?!? This thing is barely usable to me because it drops the data connection completely at random.

Yes, it did.
I think the servers are designed to reply to every "n" requests, so they don't have each and every Thunderbolt user trying to download the file all at once.
Pull the battery and keep it pulled for a minute (I honestly don't know if this will help, but it can't hurt!), start it up, then check every 10 minutes or so and you should see the "update available" again. Remain calm. Verizon is trying to update a lot of Bolts today.

I noticed mine does it at weaker signals and here lately does it more. I use to think it was the phone, now I think it's the network due to the charge and the bionic having the same issues.
Now, before someone says go to AT&T, been there, won't go back. Even if you are lucky enough to be in an area with 3g, it drops to edge for no reason at all and thats as fast as dial up.
I started downloading the firmware last night with no problems, and then I fell asleep. But when I woke up I found that it had rebooted and started to apply the update, showing the triangle with the ! and the Android. I've tried to reboot the phone so I can mount my phone as a disk drive and remove some files (my SD card is 100% full and I think that may be the problem) but my phone just automatically shuts down to apply the update every time I power it on. My phone is now rendered unusable. Help!
If u go to Android Police's page they have it there.....that is where I got mine and it worked perfectly

Has anyone been able to pickup the OTA update that has already downloaded/installed a previous RUU? I realize that I can go get the xxxxx.3 RUU.

Woke up, checked for new updates, GR was available, pulled it, now it is installing.
Everytime i get an os update i feel like it is Christmas and i am opening presents.
I wonder how much work is going to get done at work today........lolol

Three of my favorite stocks LOL. I figure if Mickey Mouse and Ronald McDonald go bankrupt then we are in deep trouble. Google was just a bet with a friend LOL. Sorry for getting off topic here.
That's what I did....downloaded the leaked one yesterday and works perfect and it is 100% the same

Be patient. Try it again every ten minutes or so and eventually you'll see the notification.
Leaked radios released = Nice
No fix for voice mail notification = switched to Google voice
Sense 2.1 = switched to BAMF Forever with Sense 3.0

Just a quick tip for those out there who haven't updated yet...be sure to charge your phone before starting.
I could get into a dozen or so reasons why this is a good idea, some of which may be debatable, but there is no doubt that having your phone run out of juice during the update would be very bad.
