Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform

For some reason when I try to run adb to give the "su" command to see if my phone properly rooted, the prompt opens and then I get 2 seconds of scrolling text and the prompt closes after that.

What I've done: Downloaded LG tool, and installed drivers. Install .NET framework. Installed C++ redist. Extracted gingersnap files. Run gingersnap and received message that rooting was completed. Tried to run adb to verify results(fail).

Edit: I've realized that like a old person I was failing to run adb through a command prompt. Now I've got to the adb shell, but am getting permission denied on su command. I did as previously stated in another post and made sure phone was on, awake, and not on lock screen, but no matter how many times I issue the su command I don't see a prompt to accept on my phone. Does this mean something did not work correctly when the phone was being rooted, or am I missing something?

Is Superuser installed on your phone?

I thought gingersnap would be doing that for me, so no it was not. I just downloaded it from the market place and tried to run the su command through adb again and still go permission denied instantly with no notification on my phone. Do I need to re-run gingersnap after I installed superuser on my phone?

Nevermind. I got it. After installing Superuser, I re ran gingersnap and ran the su command with superuser open.

Rooting accomplished. Thank you guys for all the time you put into this to make it easier to accomplish.

When Gingersnap works correctly, it does install it for you. That's a good way to check if you're rooted as well after using Gingersnap.

EDIT: I see you got it now.

Rooting now.....trying for the fourth time...it just says rooting,,running exploit..how long does this phase take? I maybe being a little impatient.:-!

Giving this a shot. Just got my Optimus, and I'm scared ****less that I'm going to brick it if I try to root

I think I am done

On the fourth try I see I have superuser in my apps. Does that mean I am rooted? Sorry for the stupid question but How do I run adb and su? Thanks

Yes it should mean you're rooted. Run your adb shell and give the su command and watch your superuser app for it to ask permission to allow access. If it happens, you're good. If not, something is wrong.

Edit: You open a command prompt in window, change the directory to where you stored adb and type "adb shell" without the quotes.
