Currently only the Linux version has an unroot function and even that is half broken. I'm working on a better unroot function and it will be available for all 3 platforms.

Gingersnap is in essence a GUI wrap-around of the regular rooting guide. It uses a modified version of the GingerBreak root exploit. Instead of spitting out a root shell on completion, GingerBreak has been modified to instead run a shell script (com.sh) with root privileges. For a more precise breakdown of what is going on, the source code of the modified GingerBreak is in the attachments of the first post, and com.sh is included in the normal Gingersnap download, also available in the download section for your specific platform.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this whole rooting/custom rom thing, etc. I just wanted to verify how to use gingersnap. Do I download all the stuff on the computer then transfer it to my phone or what? If you could help me out with like an "incredibly Dummies" guide to Gingersnap I would greatly appreciate it. And also, once rooted how would I get a black notification bar and overclock my Optimus S? Thank You
