Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform

I still have this same issue.

I am trying to use Gingersnap on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the root install can't find my device. I have tried rebooting several times with no luck, including removing the battery and rebooting and no luck. Screenshot attached.

I have an LG Optimus S running :
Android 2.2.2
Baseband version LS670MVD_60401001
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
SW Version LS670ZVD
USB Debugging Enabled
USB Storage Disabled

Thanks.

Didn't work for my phone and don't know what I'm doing wrong. Ran Gingersnap and said operation complete, but my phone never rebooted :/ Help?

OK I am new here. I ran the Gingersnap and it restarted my phone. I know have Superuser under my apps. I am stuck now. The steps said to run adb shell, but how do I do that? I ran the adb.exe application from the gingersnap folder, It opened a separate window with a bunch of text and disappeared. Is my phone rooted now?

Thanks for all the Help guys.

open a cmd prompt, then do cd C:\whereyouputthefolderwithadb then do adb shell (should show up as a $ or a # if its a $ then type su (watch your phone and press allows allow if prompt shows up) you should now be at the # prompt on the cmd screen, if thats the case, then you are rooted

First:
THANK YOU!

Second:
I'd like to pre-apologize for my TOTAL newb-itude.

Ok, took me a bit to find this thread, and from what I gather, I need to head over to the recovery area...
any other tips before I start going wild with the ROMs and themes etc?

(off topic, forgive..) Should I install both the recoveries?

Thanks again,
PvT

Flash only one recovery (flashing a second would just write over the first, pointless). I would go with Zionist, as it will be more compatible if you want to run cm7 based roms. Once flashed, run a backup of your stock rom and save it somewhere (I have mine saved on my computer to save space on my SD card) . Then you are ready to flash roms!! Just remember to do a full wipe and if going to cm7 or back to a froyo rom from there to flash the debug.zip that is floating around. I would post a link but am on my phone which makes it difficult. Good luck!

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

This worked great for my LG Optimus V. It performs great now that I was able to get rid of the
excess software and install my own stuff. Now will this work for a Samsung Intercept running
froyo 2.2 ? it would be great to have my husbands phone perform close to the same "standard"
as mine. (no I coildn't talk him into a full touch screen phone, he still depends on the sliding QUERTY)
Any advice would be great. The temp root that he is running really doesn't work that well.

I followed the instructions:

LS670
2.2.2
LS670MVD_60401001
2.6.32.9 lge@android-build#2
ZVD.41B2924E
LS670ZVD

At first it started up nice and fast, but now it's been about 15 minutes... still "Executing exploit, could take a while..."

I have the same exact specs like you posted. I also get stuck in the Executing exploit" step for > 30min and nothng happens. Tried the gingerbreak method and same thing. Is this phone version rootable or not?

I rooted my phone, LG Optimus S 2.2.2. with 'Gingersnap Root Utility' and checked it out with 'Root Check'. All is ok. My question is "What do I do now wth a rooted phone?" I do not want to get to crazy adding or removing alot of stuff. I like a clean look, not flashy. And, "What do I do when the repaired Gingerbread update comes out? I liked it and may want to go back if it works."

Big thanks to drewwalton.
Had this phone almost 1 year and after spending soo much time reading millions of posts on rooting, I finally got around to it. Mainly to remove Swype that came with the phone and install the newest beta version of swype, (which rocks btw). Now I see there's a bunch more I want to do.

I have FINALLY got my LG rooted. Took forever Thanks to those in the thread. I think I read all 80 pages twice ...
Now that I got that done ... all my frustration was for not? I can't uninstall the programs I want to uninstall. The sprint this and that stuff. Now if this is the wrong place to ask this point me in the right direction please. I just want more space on my phone.
Signed ... I miss my Mes
