Hi-
I just upgraded from a Moto G7 (Android 10) to a G Power (Android 11) and have noticed the same intermittent issue on both phones. Sometimes when I open the Gmail app, I see one screen superimposed over another (e.g., an email message displaying over the inbox). If I go into applications and force stop on the Gmail app, the problem is temporarily fixed. I tried Googling with various search terms but could not find anything that related to this.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
PnG

Yes, it was toggled on. I just switched it off. Do you think that was the cause of the problem?
Thanks

Mine is on , so if yours was I'm assuming it was Good, go through other settings there .

Also it's just message that appears over others not the app appear over others correct?

Your welcome!

Correct, it's just the message that overlays, making it impossible to read anything. I'll change the setting back to on. This is such a strange quirk.

Gotcha, do you want reset the app that way cuts down looking for settings and makes everything go back to default? To do that just clear it's data and force stop it

I thought the problem was resolved, but it is still intermittent. So strange that it would occur on the old phone and the new phone. I did not reset all of the Gmail settings, but I guess that I will try that now.

Ok keep us posted!

Wow, that was a lighting fast response! I realized that when I swipe left to exit Gmail, the screen refreshes in a manner that makes me think that the problem I'm experiencing is that the refresh is getting stuck and therefore it is not going away. Does that make sense?

I was hesitant to reset Gmail settings because I thought I would have to re-add my email accounts, but I see that they stayed.

Yeah quick lol

So you reset the app now ?
Does that happen with other apps as well when you back out if it ?

Yes, I just reset the app after posting that last message. I haven't noticed that effect when backing out of other apps.
