GMail App looks better on my iPhone 6s thaan my Andriod mobile! ?

Hello

Sorry if this is the wrong thread but here goes:

So I have an Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 running stock Andriod 5.1.1 and running the GMail app 6.10.23.137993986.release
Then I have my work Iphone 6s running IOS 10 running vGmail version 5.05

When I check my inbox on the iPhone6s for example the icon next to WayFair and Student Beans looks like an offical icon.
but on my Andriod it just shows Wayfair as a boring W and for Student Beans is even worse it shows it as a Z

What is going on ?
It is a sad day indeed when Gmail works better on an iPhone than it does in my Andriod!

It's not a matter of just loading an Android app into an iPhone, someone had to write the iPhone version - probably from scratch (that's a lot easier than trying to figure out someone else's source code) and they wrote it differently.

You can turn an iPhone into a great portal for Google services.

At the end of the day, Google's services matter way more than Android.

The apps tend to be similar but not in the way you navigate through the app. For example, since we always have the back button, the iPhone version layout may be different because it lacks that permanent button.
