Gmail App unable to sign in to Yahoo mail

Hello everyone:
Since last evening, my Nexus 6P has been alerting every 15 min that Gmail app cannot sign in to retrieve my Yahoo email. I have gone through the steps that appear when I sign in, namely granting Gmail permission to log into Yahoo mail, and I get in, but then a little while later, it notifies again! Does anyone know if there is currently a glitch causing this? Thanks.

Related to the 1 billion account data compromise just announced today? Maybe accounts have been disabled or require new security settings?

Yahoo's supposedly making everyone effected change their passwords.

I've been having this as well...I'm changing my password.

I got an email from yahoo too, security breach/hack, etc. This happened another time a few weeks ago.

Thank you to all who replied. I changed my Yahoo passwords and the problem has disappeared.
