Yahoo recently made security updates requiring you to use app passwords (as opposed to your own user-created password) when connecting to your Yahoo Mail account through a 3rd party email client. I'll post the link here as well: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/access-yahoo-mail-third-party-apps-sln15241.html. It doesn't matter what your own password is -- if you want to use an email client, you probably have to use an app password that's generated by Yahoo.

You might find it interesting that I have 3 yahoo accounts. Interestingly I was able to sync one of them. The remaining two have the same problems. One stopped on Feb 10. The other on Feb 15. I didn't have to do any generated weird password for one of the yahoo accounts. Again, I'm not the only one with the problem according to what I'm seeing. I'm simply giving up for now.

I've had the same settings for years. That's not it. I set my sync period for 2 weeks. I have 3 yahoo accounts. Interestingly I was able to sync one of them. The remaining two have the same problems. One stopped on Feb 10. The other on Feb 15. Again, I'm not the only one with the problem according to what I'm seeing. I'm simply giving up for now.
Oh ok , have you tried deleting then adding them again?

I have a few yahoo accounts set up years ago. No problem until recently. I'm not the only one either.

It has absolutely nothing to do what you done in the past, the instructions I gave and the other post that had a link to the same instructions is what you have to do now if you want the samsung app to pick up your yahoo email. Unless you follow instructions, you will never get it.

I setup my yahoo email in the samsung app just before posting to make sure it worked. j

I have a Galaxy S6 and can access Gmail and Hotmail with the email application. Until 23.04.2021 I also could access my Yahoo account, but since then it has stopped. I tried everything you mentioned, including setting up an App password, but it does not work. I deleted the cache and finally uninstalled Yahoo on my email application. Now I cannot add it again. Whenever I do it, it asks to agree to give Yahoo access to various things and when I agree I am back to the page where it asks me for the password. I enter it and I get to the page where it asks for the permission and then back again into a never-ending loop. I also get messages that my Yahoo account was accessed via my mobile, but I cannot add the Yahoo account anymore.

you need to know that Yahoo! currently only offers POP3/IMAP access to their webmail service to "Yahoo! Mail Plus" subscribers. This is a variant of the free, core email service that includes more features, extended features, and the complete removal of ads; this service costs about US $20 per year. Since Yahoo! Mail users who check their emails from an email program like Windows Mail do not see ads, Yahoo! only allows paying subscribers to connect to their webmail service from an email program. (In other words, this allows the Yahoo! Mail team to make Yahoo! Mail a profitable product worth developing since users generate income either through their clicks on ads, on the other hand through their annual subscription fee.)

I haven't tried using my free Yahoo Mail account through a typical email client, but it still works if I use Gmail's feature to "Check mail from other accounts" (which is only in Gmail's web interface, not the app).

I'm using account key and having the same issue. I was able to sign into my Yahoo account on my Note 9 back in 2018 when I bought the phone but now I can't sign on with my Note 8 which I bought late last year. They must have changed something.

When did they make this change?

I was also stuck in this "Unable to Validate Account" loop with my old Galaxy S7 that I just reloaded with new stock firmware (it was my backup phone so I was experimenting with rooting it and didn't want Marshmallow which is all that was available). Both my Samsung email and Gmail were doing the same thing. I went to Google play and updated both apps and everything worked perfectly. What clued me on this was my Galaxy S21 didn't have this issue. It was because it has updated apps, not old ones like the S7 did.
